Mara Lee Freeman | District Nine

Personality:

Mara Lee Freeman is a girl of few words. She hates to talk, probably cause she is always too dazed to think of something intelligent as a reply. But she doesn't like to listen either. She can't stay in one place for to long to listen, or else she gets bored. Mara cannot possibly be bothered with what other people have to say, she thinks that the world should revolve around her. She is very impatient, and can not sit still or even spend the time to think about what should should say to someone or if what she said was poliet at all.

All in all, Mara is very sour. She is almost always angry, either at one thing or the next. Usually, it is anyone in her family not doing what she wants them to do, or them not letting her do what she wants to do. For an eighteen year old girl, she can have lots of rather nasty temper tantrums. Instead of yelling though, she gives people the silent treatment and cold shoulder for a very long time.

But lets not focus on just the bad aspects of Mara, because there are some good ones there too. Whenever someone around her that she does not hate is having an really bad day, while she will not try to cheer them up, Mara will at least not yell or scream at them. She cannot really sense when someone is feeling tired, angry, or sad, but when she does manage to notice, she will try to lift her personal black stormcloud from above them She tries to give them a little personal space. It is such a small thing, but it is really a big effot for Mara, and that is what makes this quality about her extra special.

Apeearance:

Mara tries to keep herself groomed and good looking in her spare time, but it doesn't always work out like that. Her hair is a warm chocolate brown that angles in around her chin. All she needs to do is pull a comb through it, and it looks half way decent, with no terrible knots or snarles. Mara's eyebrows are a matching brown color, and they are very stunning, pulled up in a neat row, without her even having to try. Her eyelashes, however, are short and clumpy, giving her facial hair an uneven appearance.

Mara is a medium sized fully grown girl. She is around five feet and six inches in height. She is not fat, but not skinny either, her body only just plump. Her face is fully, and she has chubby cheeks. Mara has full, thick arms, and legs like treestumps. Her legs are longer and her torso is very long, and she consists of a thick, short neck.

The eyes that from which Mara gaze out of are a pretty pale blue, although no happy light shines out from them. They are flat, never twinkling. Her lips are naturally a very dark red color, shiney from her licking them so often. Her teeth are out of alignment, her family was never able to afford braces, and her nose is wide and flat. But her skin is unexplainably smooth, she never got acne and she never tried to prevent it.

History:

Mara's previous life didn't have very many events of importance happen in them. She just lived her unhappy life. She had a mother and a father, both of who bosses her around way to much for her liking. She has a younger sister, who she doesn't like because her sister, whose name is Tori, is very sickly and frail and does not do anything to support the family by means of money. And Mara is very obsessed with their households source of income and profit. Her sister has no job and she wastes her mother's time because she has to take care of her. All she does is waste space and food.

On that note, Mara is not particulary close with any of her family members. Because of her unfriendly attitude, Mara does not have very many friends. She likes to spend her time by herself, in solitude, being in nature. She usually hunts, as it is the one thing that she can do well and also likes to do. Mara and her father work as hunters and the wild game that they catch gets sent to the capitol. When her mother finds enough time, she goes hunting also.

Mara is angry with the capitol and them taking their hard earned food, eating it, and giving them little money. Sometimes, she finds herself eating some of the foul that she catches raw, just out of spite. Mara is very handy when it comes to the knife. Instead of shooting an animal with a bow and arrow or a type of gun or trapping it, she throws knives at them. It is her major strength.
