Appearance:
The Sender's appearance doesn't stand out very much. His clothes and basic features at least. Run-down black boots protect his feet, no longer able to shine from even the most vigorous polishing. Brown jeans, usually splattered with mud and dusty. A black trench coat that reaches his knees. The only noticeable thing about his clothes is the belt. Upon the buckle is a bird taking flight from a branch. Holstered on the belt are two guns.Personality:
The hands that reach for those guns are callused heavily. Some would swear that the dirt under the nails is actually from District 12, even if he hasn't been there in months. The veins running across the backs of his hands, when not covered with dirt, are easily visible. Every time he moves a finger, the muscles can be seen moving under the skin.
His arms and legs are not very interesting. A few scars are scattered across them. The pale skin of his hands is also here, and on his arms the veins are also clearly visible. They aren't too heavily muscled, but they are fast. His legs also have some serious jumping power. On his legs however, the veins are not visible, even though he is not any tanner on his legs.
Sitting atop it all is his head. His angular face has been likened to that of a hawk. His eye is dark, and usually brooding. Very few people they have seen happiness in it, and even fewer can claim the light of laughter. His hair is black, short, and straight. His face is never covered by the shadow of a hat, but the shadow of one who's seen too much. His teeth aren't the cleanest, and he has a couple of silver ones.
Notice it was 'eye', not 'eyes'. This is because one is no longer in its original location, namely his eye socket. In its place an empty space, then skin. Around where the eye used to be is a great red sore, that no on can remember ever being healed.
He believes in his own form of justice. This usually means killing people for their own good. Yes, their own good. He doesn't know what the after-life is like, he just thinks the current one is hell. Or worse. So he kills the enforcers, and leaves the oppressed behind.History:
His usual state of feeling is sadness. Well, his own form of sadness. For him this is quiet and forceful. He gets what he wants, even thought it doesn't make anything brighter. To him, everyone's life is already hell, a bit of rudeness can't make it worse. He doesn't ask for much though. Repairs to his clothes, food, housing for a night or two, and bullets are all he wants. He gets money from the people he kills.
The Sender is a bright guy. If he had been in a Capitol District 1,2, or 3 school, he would have gotten mostly A's when he tried. The issue is he's always distracted by his own thoughts. Dissecting the reason for every last one of the teachers movements for example. Mostly that's all he does when he thinks. About his next move, or about why people are doing certain things around him.
It's to the people who are extremely poor and punished, people that remind him of himself when he was younger, that a crack in his outer shell is shown. A bit of money is 'accidentally' left behind where they'll notice. A kind comment or two directed at the kids. Nothing two large. Just enough so they won't end up like him.
The Sender had a cursed life. His parents hated each other and his father hated him. His father punished him severely for every little thing. His mother sold her body to anyone who would buy as well, which understandingly made his father even more angry. But his father took it out on him out-back of their home every time, because, like it or not, she was their main source of income. His father cut down the trees of District 7, but made much more as a thug and pick-pocket.Codeword: odair
About the time James turned 6 his mother died. His father started to use him as a slave from that point on. He had to feed himself while doing all his father's work. He learned to steal very well since it was the only way to feed himself. But he was planning his revenge against his father the entire time...
On his tenth birthday he struck with a knife he had stolen. The next day his father was found dead with words written on the ground next to him in James's own blood. "I have sent him away. I hope hell will give him the worst it has." That's when the Peacekeepers gave him a nickname. The Sender. They had no idea that he was a 10 year old boy with anger to spare. In his escape from the District he killed a Peacekeeper when their back was turned. He had to climb a tree when the watch switched and wait a few hours until the guy showed an opening. The Peacekeeper was relieved of all belongings and left where he lay with the same message that was next to his father.
In the woods as he chose his new district, he had a great amount of trouble surviving. He barely found enough edible plants he knew. His second day in the woods he was attacked by a tracker jacker lurking around a broken nest, which stung him in the eye-brow before he found a body of water. He woke up a few days later with limited sight. When he turned his head more towards the ground on his right, he found his eye staring back at him, forced out by the huge amount of swelling resulting from the sting.
He went to District 1 and made a killing there. The government thought he would live in the forest, but he decided, why live in exile? During his brief time their he started to practice with the gun he had stolen. He kept practicing until he could draw like lightning and hit the mark almost every time. He decided to leave after a few months, as his thefts were being largely noticed and the Peacekeepers were starting to suspect.
The next morning a Peacekeeper near the fence was found with a bullet in his head, missing gun and bullets. Written in blood next to his body was this message: "I have sent him away. I hope hell will give him the worst it has."
That's how he lived. Stealing. Killing if needed. Until he turned 20. That seemingly bottomless pit of anger, well, turned out to have a bottom. He started to think about his life, and realized it was wasted. Killing Peacekeepers was the only worthwhile thing he'd done. So he decided he would make it his career, or at least a hobby.
That's what he's done for a while. Gone to a District, gotten supplies, killed a Peacekeeper or two, and then left. He doesn't have much against the Capitol. They're not the ones who make life hell directly. The Hunger Games are horrible, but he saw enough jerks thrown into them and killed horribly to not be too mad about them. Because really, he's the same kid who killed his dad at age 10, just now with weapons, quite a few more years of experience, and a purpose.
