Age: 15
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 1
Appearance:
At 5'7", Eryn's a bit hard to miss. Long legs and long arms make her pretty good at running, jumping and climbing. Her obsidian hair falls at mid-chest and is pin-straight (despite some frizzy-ness). Her bangs are cut straight across and cover her eyebrows. No matter how much sun she can get, her skin always remains the same: light apricot, but in certain lights her skin can look a bit yellow. Due to her extremely high metabolism, her weight lingers at around 115 pounds. So she looks thin and frail, but she can surprise most with how powerful she can be. Don't forget: just because she's thin doesn't mean she's weak. Her eyes are a startling sap green color and can even look emerald in some lighting. Her lips are usually in a slight smile, lips a pale pink color.Personality:
You can find Eryn lost in thought very often. And she’s always wearing something simple; her favorite is a dark grey tee shirt and a cream colored skirt that falls at the knees. Pairing that off, she wears dark grey sneakers. She wears her hair as if it were nothing special: straight down and nicely brushed. Due to her father’s former alcohol addiction, she has many scars on her wrist that she covers up with a series of rubber bracelets. These scars are her only outer flaw, others are inside, personality wise.
Eryn Blocker is a hopeless flirt and often falls in "fool's love". Fools love is when someone falls in love, rather, they think they're in love. She’s outgoing, (sadly) audacious and bold and the complete opposite of shy. She loves to laugh and doesn't care what others think of her. She's the type of girl who'll raise her hand to answer a question even if she doesn't know the answer. She also has no shame, well, almost no shame. She can become a klutz around someone she really likes. But due to her Seasonal Affective Disorder, she is only like this during the spring and summer.History:
During winter and fall, she goes crazy. She feels closed in and often sits outside with some form of lighting so the dark doesn't get to her. She withdraws from activities and lashes out when someone gets on her nerves. She becomes irritable and gets migraines easily. It's best to leave her alone.
Some people call her Ryn (rhymes with bin), but most just call her Eryn (pronounced just like Erin). She doesn’t like shopping, but she does it often (later explained in her history). Her closet his huge, but she chooses to wear things simple and nothing too extraordinary. But as far as hobbies go, Eryn is one for reading. Yes, strange considering the fact that she’s outgoing. But late at night, usually around four in the morning, she likes to take out some books and read. Expanding her knowledge is something she enjoys.
Her top three fears are one: fire. Two: large masses of water (like oceans, lakes, etc) and number three: complete darkness. She's afraid of fire because she's had some bad experiences. Let's just say one of those scars on her wrist is a burn. The other is water. When she was six she had swimming lessons and was forced to dive. She didn't want to dive, it was too deep and she was too high up. But her instructor pushed her off anyway and she almost drowned. However, small bodies of water like ponds are alright with her. But she can get a little anxious even in those small waters. The last is complete and utter darkness. It's something that never left her, the fear of the dark. She needs sunlight, otherwise she can go crazy (connection with her SAD). She won't admit it, but she sleeps with a light on every night.
Down to weapons, she sticks with a bow and arrow and small swords, knives or daggers (though her sarcasm can be a dull blade sometimes). Since a bow and arrow is hard to conceal, a ten inch blade is kept either in her boots (when she wears them) or in the waistband of her skirt/pants. Some actually think Eryn might have a personality disorder because she can be laughing and joking and then the next moment she could be aiming for your throat. But really, all she has is a very quick and explosive temper. So don't get in her way, even if she's thin, she's quick.
Another thing, when it comes to a life-or-death situation, she weighs everything too heavily and it usually ends up with her acting on instinct, which is never a good idea. And once she makes up her mind, she can be very stubborn on that choice. Sometimes her ignorance can get the best of her.
Back to her Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). This means that during the winter and fall, she can go crazy and tend to lash out often. This can be due to the lack of sunlight and the shortening of days. However, during the summer and spring, where there is more sunlight, she calms down and returns to "normal".
March 31st fifteen years ago in District 1, that was the first time a Blocker child cried. She is the only child, but her parents had wanted at least two more siblings. If her mother’s pregnancies had been successful, Eryn would have been the youngest. That should mean that she is the great miracle child. No, not exactly. Before Eryn was born, when her mother’s first miscarriage happened, she turned to drinking. Surprisingly, Eryn had come out normal, which should be another reason that she’s a miracle. Anyway, since she lives in the richest district, money for such an addiction was no problem, and Eryn’s mother died only nine years after Eryn’s birth.Codeword: odair
Now, Eryn’s father is struggling with giving up his addiction as well. So Eryn takes money from his paycheck and uses it to fund her addiction: shopping. It’s not really an addiction, more of a way to heal her father. The less money he has, the more chance he has to live. She does this so that she’ll never have to see her father hopelessly drunk and have him throw a bottle at her and scar her physically and mentally ever again.
She was diagnosed with Seasonal Affective Disorder when she was nine. Many think that this had something to do with her mother's death, but no one can be quite sure.
