NADENE~! Albertine

Speech- 66FF66
Nadene sighed as she collapsed on the grass by the bubbling green lake. It was too obvious that the water in that lake would kill a tribute instantly if one was stupid enough to drink it. As Nadene's petite body flopped down in the grass, she gazed up at the sky. It was only late morning and she sun was already white hot. Nadene got a terrible feeling that this was the hottest day so far in the strange arena. in a way, the arena reminded District Seven's female tribute of a desert with more variety and water. The heat sure was demanding, sucking up every little bit of water a tribute could have. Nadene was exhausted. She had been helping Zuka walk, or waddle along ever since the battle with the mutts the day before at the geyser. That one, larger mutt had shattered Zuka's shin and broken her foot. Each broken bone was on a different leg, making it almost impossible to walk.
"Zuka, we need to watch out backs here," Nadene said softly, wondering if her ally could hear her. Nadene gazed up at the sky, and was shocked to see that everything was clouded in gray ash. That's when it hit her- the volcano must have finally erupted, just like her and Zuka thought it eventually would. that place was bad luck. The water in the volcano was where Nadene got her bad water, her first taste, literally, of pain in the arena. And it wasn't anything sweet. She was still feeling the terrible after effects. Obviosuly, the water, if it even was water, in the lake, was undrinkable. Just the noise of the bubbles popping off of the green surface seemed to scream that the water was far more dangerous than anyone thought.
"Stay away from the lake! It's acid!" Nadene shouted, just as she figured out what it was. "It'll kill you in seconds!" She had seen acid once before. Some peacekeepers were using it to get rid of something in the forest when Nadene was hanging out in her Father's place of work, the woods. She remembered exactly what it looked like. Sticky, bubbly, green. And it melted away anything it touched, like lava.
Nadene held her switchblade, wondering just what crazy mutts the game makers might throw at them this time. She didn't want it to happen. The mutts were far harder to kill than the other tributes. Phsycially, they were harder to kill. Mentally, killing the other tributes was clearly meant to mentally unhinge you, but Nadene knew it was kill or be killed in these twisted games, and she was determined to win at this point. I'm coming home, Cateline.[/color]
