Monica Felish. DISTRICT1

She has long black hair that flows down her back like a waterfall flowing down a river. Her pale skin, which has no freckles, but has a lot of acne, and from picking at it too much, she has many red blotches, contrasts against her black hair and brown eyes. Monica's eyelashes are long, and when she blinks they flutter like a butterfly. Monica normally wears make-up, and so her full lips are normally a shade of red, for scarlet to crimson. And her eyes are shaded in normally a blue or purplish hue.

Her height is a little short for a sixteen year old. Maybe about 5 feet and 3 inches. Her weight? Not eating that much, and also training in the training center too often makes it slim, a mere 137 pounds and 3 ounces. Her hands are small, yet strong. Her feet, they're an average size, a 7.

The clothing she wears, it's very appropriate, never wearing anything exposing anything. She likes to wear purple, gray, or black. She normally wears a t-shirt, or a tank-top. On her legs, tight jeans, she's grown into them so much, she could do many activities in them. She likes to wear sneakers on her feet, nothing like high heels or anything.

But, even though Monica wears appropriate clothes, she has a few piercings. She has the normal ear pierce, a second hole on each ear, and on her left ear an industrial bar. Monica also has one of those eyebrow-type piercings and a lip piercing. The last one she got was the bellybutton piercing. And truthfully, she always has an earing in each one.

The last thing that you should know about Monica is that whenever she gets a scar or scab or whatever she always picks at it, leaving it looking even grosser than before. Though she doesn't get many scars and such working in District 1. Normally just her tripping into a sharp object or a mosquito bite.

Monica is well, mysterious. She talks to only her friends and family. She's also very shy. She won't talk to people right when she meets them. It normally takes her about three weeks to feel comfortable with them. Don't get me wrong, she is a nice person, but get on her bad side, and she won't be afraid to fight back.

A good trait of Monica is commitment. She doesn't stop trying, and she practices for activities, whether it be for The Games or for a subject in math. Confidence helps her get there, she doesn't feel like she can fail a lot of stuff. Also, bravery. She isn't the cowardly type. Another good trait of her, is honesty, it's not like she has to hide anything, so she tells the truth.

Monica does have fears, too. One of them is water, she can't swim and was always afraid to learn, and anyways, there isn't much ponds in District 1. Another thing is disappointing people. She feels like a loser when she messes up something for others, or even herself sometimes, so I guess you could say guilty, also.

The Games is also a main thing. Monica, thinks the idea is retarded interesting. Whenever anybody is like "The Games are so awesome." Monica is all "But still, who else would think of such a brilliant thing? They're cool, but also like a brain game." Truthfully, Monica would love to be in The Games, just to see how she would be in a life-or-death situation. Or if she would win, or what other district she would ally with.

One last thing is that Monica is spoiled, so if she doesn't get her way, she could get pretty mad. She always has enough food to hair, makeup and clothes to wear, accessories to wear. Even enough crayons to color with. She practically hates the two letter word NO.

Monica was born in mid-December, sixteen years ago. As of now, all her four brothers have moved to their own houses, Billy, John, Max, and Liam. Only her dad is still alive, her mom died when she was ten in the winter, she had gotten a deadly virus. That's one of the reasons Monica doesn't talk to people she's not close to, they could mention something that would make her sad or uncomfortable.

Monica's worse memory was that summer when she found out about her mom's death. Monica was counting the number of hearts that were on her new bright pink wallpaper she got for her room. When she got to twenty-seven, her dad came in and she knew something was wrong. Monica could see her dad's blue eyes, they were red on the outside. He sat down and said to her, "Monica, your mom... She just died, you know how she was sick? Well, the medics said she couldn't breathe well, and..." And both of them started crying. Her brothers were at school doing an extra after-school program, when they received the news, they were just as sad.

Over the years Monica learned useful skills from her dad. Monica learned to be a good cook, and use knives in a threatening way. Maybe if she was in the games, that's what she could use. Knives and her usefulness for making dishes, that would help. Monica's brothers also helped her learn skills and supported her through a lot. Since the capitol isn't too faraway from District 1, her brothers walk together to visit her.

Monica is now sixteen, and has gone through a lot more than anyone deserves. She tries to be, seem and look strong in both ways. Physically and mentally. Monica also trains for the games and hopes to win if she ever got reaped, it would make up for her mother's life and for the missing part of her heart. But inside, the love for her mom could never be fulfilled fully.
