James Snow - District 13

James Snow is of a fair complexion with bright green eyes and black hair. His hair is a bit tousled and tends to curl up towards the top of his head near the front or back.

James's build is average, yet slightly muscular. He has the ability to hunt and that, therefore, has strengthened his muscles somewhat over the years. He has a slight little scar on his right cheek where he accidentally ran into a thicket of brambles in the aboveground ruins of Thirteen while out hunting. He carries a long-ish throwing knife at a light brown leather belt at his waist. He usually wears the drab gray required uniform of District Thirteen since this is all he owns in terms of clothing.

James is of a rather quiet and passive demeanor. Rather shy, he is not quite the type to go out with other girls his age, pretending to sneak off alone to hunt or train, or break his boring schedule within his District. James has always had a quiet, yet morbid urge to go visit the Capitol and the other Districts. He wants away from the monotonous life in Thirteen, and a chance to build an interesting, adventurous life for himself.

The few friends he has in Thirteen are those boys and girls that he trains with. He is generally well-liked, however, and is almost never shunned by anyone, but rather invited into their company.

James has a peculiar knack for swimming considering that his district is into producing nuclear materials. But nevertheless, he will jump in a lake (so to speak) whenever the opportunity arises. A fatal flaw though of James' is that he is morbidly afraid of heights. This most likely comes from him being underground for so much of his life, but his fear of heights makes him a bit skittish around hovercraft as he doesn't like the feeling of being so high up. He also has never learned how to climb a tree due to the same fear.

James Snow is a young man who has had a very interesting and hard life. He was born via an ancient method from a place called Rome long-ago called the Caesarean section. His mother died during the pregnancy leaving her father so distressed that he committed suicide in his grief. James grew up as the only child. He was taken in from the nursery by the District at age 3.

Given that there was really no where else for James to go, Thirteen's hierarchy decided to just enlist James's in training for the armed forces only when James was age 7. His education in one of Thirteen's underground classrooms lasted for 5 years, during which time he often snuck out of his duties for days to go out hunting without fear of consequences from back home in the District.

At the age of 12, the same year James enlisted for the physical training for Thirteen's armed forces, James received the scar across his right cheek. For three days, he lay in bed trying not to scratch as the whole side of his cheek burned and itched where the plant sliced him. The doctor's told him it was a rare, now almost-extinct poisonous plant called "poison ivy" back in the olden days before Panem.

In his training for the army, James learned how to throw a dagger and even started keeping one on his hip. His favorite weapon by far though was something Thirteen's marksman director called an "ak-47" that shot really fast and that James really caught on to it.

At present day, age 17, now James is ready to set foot into the wide, sometimes cold, world of Panem to get his first taste of real adventure and thrill.
