Just Another Day of Hunting

I envy those people. Those people who just killed those rabbits with mostly clean hits, knew which ones to go for without having to even speak to each other. Very intelligent. Very close-knit. I wish I still had friends like that. But what good does wishing do anyways? Might as well say you're hungry and just wait for rabbit stew to drop on your head out of thin air.

I observe silently from my position in the oak I had chosen for my daily meditation. Well, not so much meditation as it is slowly succumbing to the idea that I'll be alone for the rest of my life. That is why I am so jealous of these people below me. They know each other. I barely even know myself anymore.

I twirl my dagger in my hand, trying my best not to rattle the chain that connected it to my wrist. And then I spot it. A perfect little fawn, grazing with its mother in the clearing about, oh, 3 meters from my position. I throw my small blade before I know it, detaching the chain and letting it whisk through the air, fining its mark safely embedded in the small deer's brain. Head shot! Yes! And from my left hand, too.[/b][/i] I think in satisfaction as the little animal falls to the ground and its mother bolts for all she's worth. What a crappy parent.

I silently slip down from my tree, the slight crunch of my boots the only sign that I am present. I begin to walk across the clearing, nodding a silent greeting to the other two hunters and proceeding to clean up my catch. My placement could've been better, but other than that, I'm satisfied. I haul my catch over my shoulder and brush past the boy and the girl, not sparing them so much as a glance. [/color][/size]
