Lamb Grace D'Marcielli
Dream:
Bright colors. Everywhere, making rainbows. The sky itself is a great splatter of pastels. Puddles everywhere full of colors: Light pink, baby blue, candy green.
I wear white cotton. A clean blouse with a brown leather belt. A white skirt that falls to my knees with multiple layers. My hair is loose around my head. My arms are clean, free of scratches or scars. I look up. Ahead is a figure. Distant and fuzzy but clearly human.
I taking running leaps toward the figure. I'm barefoot but I have a strange confidence that everything here is clean. I land in a puddle, and colorful dew drops fly everywhere. I laugh, and it comes out with a comparison to a ripple in water. Like chimes.
I arrive at the human figure. It's a boy who I've never seen before. He doesn't look scary really, but he's not friendly looking either. He's just standing there, still. He's not even blinking.
"Hello?" I say, without shyness. In this beautiful world, how can I be shy?
The boy snaps out of his statue-like state. "Sorry?"
"I said hello," I reply patiently. "My name is lamb. What's yours?"
"Lamb is a pretty name," he replies. "But me, I don't have a name."
I frown. That's odd, most people I know have names. "Can I name you?"
The boy smiles. "That would be fine with me."
I chew my lip a bit, as I realize how important a task this will be. Whatever I call him will be his name forever. "How about Tiger?"
The boy shakes his head. "I used to know a girl named Tiger."
"Okay, then... what about Raphael?"
"No, but I like the 'R' as the beginning letter..."
"Rowan?"
"Definitely not."
"Reyan?"
"Nah..."
"Rox?"
"I like that... but it's slightly off."
"Roxel?" I say. It sounds slightly like a girls name to me. Roxanne, Roxel.
"I like that," the boy replies. "A tad girlish."
"Romel?"
"What about Ramel?"
"I like Roxel better," I say hesitantly. Though a tad girlish, I can still see it as a boy name. A rather nice boy name when it comes to it.
"Then let's leave it at Roxel."
With that the dream faded, but somehow I knew I'd see the boy in a dream again.

Reality:
As usual, I was behind my family's garage. The only place in the world no one every goes. It's so quiet and secluded. Maybe a bit dirty, but I don't pay attention to that. Besides, I'm in a vision all the time when I'm here anyway.
As I wake up I feel particularly bleary. I always feel a little dazed after dreams, but I think this one lasted a while, because I feel particularly confused.
Thinking of getting something to eat, I got myself to my feet and headed towards the house. However, my feet had different plans. They wanted to go to the street.
Before I knew what happened I was standing in the middle of one of the main streets of the district. On one side of me is a pub, and shops line the other side. Further down is a hotel and a bakery. Now that the option of food from home is dashed, I decide to make my way down to the bakery. But I'm still dazed, it's no wonder I bump into someone.
"So sorry," I mumble as I lose my balance. However, 'so sorry' wouldn't quite forgive what happens next. To regain my balance, I grab onto the stranger's shoulder and we both go to the ground together. With an effort, I try to wake myself up. It doesn't work out to well.
