Sunlight streams through the huge picture window on the eastern wall of my room. I roll over onto my side to shield my face, but its futile. My hand reaches for the clock which explains to me that its after noon. Great. Slept most of the day already. I sit up on the feather matress and rest my head on the headboard. My head is roaring with a headache from last night's party. I really should stop all these late nights, but what else is there to do other than sit in this house all day?
My feet make a hollow thud as they hit the floor and I carry myself across the floor and down the stairs to the kitchen. One of the Avoxes has left an omlet on a plate but instead I head straight for the fridge to grab my favorite food. Cold pizza. Why? I'll never know. You would think that someone as rich as me would prefer some more civilized food, but I digress.
After putting on one of my better dresses for no reason, I decide to head out. Its definetly around 4 PM now; I took my time showering and getting dressed. As I open the door the first thing I see is the pristine lawn. We have an Avox for that too. What else I see is where Mother tried to kill Jermair and I eight years ago. Wow, has it been eight years already? That means she's been in the loony-bin for seven. Jer is always trying to get me to visit her like he does, but that asylum is gross. It smells like turpentine and crazies. I step out of the house, lock the door, and walk down the driveway and onto the sidewalk.
My heels make a clicking pattern on the sidewalk with my fast, short stride. A tall blonde girl brushes past me. That's why I'm going to dye my hair eventually. There are way too many blonde chixks in this district. I'm one of the shorter ones, and my hair doesn't look as full, but it's still blonde. As I pass through the grocery market, I spot a candy shoppe. Five minutes later, I'm outside munching on a chocolate bar. Most girls out here would have a coniption if someone offeredthem a candy bar. That was the old me. Now, I don't give a damn. I look beautiful and I'm proud of it. I'll eat whatever the hell I want.
Continuing down the path I clomp past the Training Center. My brown eyes are still stuck on the huge ornate when I feel a body run into mine. I look up and see yet again another blonde girl.
"Hey, chick, you really need to watch where you're going. Someone's going to get you if you don't look where you're walking."
