Corissa Mae
Corissa was running through the silent streets of District 1. Her breath came in fast gasps, beads of sweat trickling down her forehead. She could hear the Peacekeepers boots beating against the stone street behind her, the only reason she was forcing herself to run so fast. Her brown eyes widened in shock as she stumbled, tumbling across the stone pavement. One of the peacekeepers knelt down and began poking her hardly in the cheek. 'What the heck?' she thought.
Corissa's eyes flew open, her hand immediatly springing forward and punching what she thought to be the peacekeeper. "Ouch!" she heard her mother yell in pain. She sat up in surprise to find herself in her large room, all the covers on the floor. Her red hair was stuck to her forehead and neck, sweat clinging to her face as if the dream had actually happened.
"I'm so sorry mom!" Corissa said quickly, watching her mother run out of the room to check her bleeding nose. 'Crap, I need to go before she comes back' she thought. She quickly got out of bed, stumbling slightly on her jumbled covers on the floor. She walked over to her closet, opening it to find her training outfit that her mother had obviously picked out hanging on the door.
Corissa groaned, her brown eyes flashing with anger as she gazed at it. Her eyes traveled over the fashionable training outfit, deciding to just wear something simple today. Her feet brought her to her chest-of-drawers, flinging open the droors and pulling out what her hand first touched.
She pulled out a light-blue tanktop, a fitted gray jacket, and short black shorts. 'Whatever, it's just training' she thought bitterly. Normally she was obsessive over her wardrobe, but the dream had confused her too much. She absent-mindly pulled her clothes on, tying her athletic shoes quickly. Corissa traveled over to the mirror, pulling her strawberry-blonde hair into a loose pony-tail, applying a thin layer of mascara to her blonde eyelashes.
Corrissa nodded at her reflection and set off out of her large white bedroom doors. She walked down the marble hallway, her sneakers sending echoes bounding off the walls that were covered in pictures of her small family. 'No Tyler' she thought coldly as she gazed at them. She sighed, forcing the thought out of her mind as she opened the wooden front doors "I'm going out to train!" she called out into the house before shutting the door without a reply.
She stepped off of the front steps, a cold blast of air instantly meeting her. She tugged her jacket closer and set off down the street, her eyes clouded in deep thought. She wasn't even watching where she was going, her eyes gazing down at the street.
