So I'm sure you're wondering what BlAHBLAHBLAH is in the first place. Well, after pondering that question myself for a while, I finally came up with an idea.
BLAHBLAHBLAH will be about all those petty little things everyone hates. A.K.A Clashing color, no quotation marks, forgetting periods, etc. etc.
I think first and foremost is clashing colors like this:
This is my character thinking and moving. "This is my character talking."
I think everyone should bear in mind that this site has a black background. To much of a bright color really really hurts people's eyes. And not to mention when you pick to colors that really don't match....
What is usually the safest way to go for colors in your posts is two different shades of a single color, let's say blue:
This is my character moving and thinking. "This is my character talking."
OR you could select two colors that look good together, like blue and green, or orange and yellow, or pink and purple, but not something like neon green and hot pink.
Now lets move on to no 2 pet peeve. I call it the mystery character. It's when people right in FIRST PERSON and don't specify before hand what the character's name is. Even if there is an introduction somewhere inside the post it's always good to know the name of the character you're roleplaying with. Example:
Abraham Lincoln
I am posting with my name above my post so that everyone sees who I am. This is how everyone should post. so remember to post name above your post.
Of course this doesn't count if you're typing in third person.
Pet Peeve No. 3
Lack of quotation marks. Whenever you have your character talking you must put these useful little symbols around it, otherwise no one will ever know if you're actually saying something or not.
Example without quotation marks:
Mark laughed. he said hows life, I like life.
Example with quotation marks:
Mark laughed. He said, "How's life, I like life."
Always make it clear when your character is talking.
Pet Peeve no. 4
The final one is lack of periods. When you forget periods, sentences get jumbled together and no one has any idea what is going on, except perhaps the author of the post. Note: periods go at the end of sentences, for those of you who may not know.
Example with periods:
Sasha laughed. He was so funny sometimes. But he was never serious and sometimes it got annoying. Sasha wished she had ice cream.
Example without periods:
Sasha laughed he was so funny sometimes but he was never serious and sometimes it got annoying sasha wished she had ice cream
Understand? Well thanks for reading, hope I didn't bore you to death.
Aya's edit: changed the title to something more specific.
