Surreptitious Glances {Semper}

Feet slide on the loose shingles, and I find myself stopping yet again to regain my balance. About as stealthy as a brute gorilla, it wouldn't have been hard for anyone to spot me among the rooftops, and I would be good as dead then. The district would realize those missing people weren't just missing, but lying in a cold grave somewhere in the bowels of the Forests. And she was garunteed a quick death if this became so. A bullet to the head, a knife through the heart, both would prove to be efficient.
Leaping across the last gap, my feet struggle to gain a grip on the roofing. Scrambling up the slanted surface, I give a sigh of relief when I reach the top, my muscles sore and my limbs aching. I break only a moment, struggling to regain my breath, sucking in air, and huffing it back out at almost the same time. When my heart finally slowls, and my pulse falters until it resumes its normal pumping.
I internally curse the Capitol, for convincing me to sign the damned contract, for forcing me to move to the damned Districts, for making it my career to kill. Muttering obscenities, I cross to the chimney, merely a sloppy mess of bricks. From the lack of ash residue on the edges, it has been a while since the thing has come of good use, if used at all. Hesitantly, I slip one leg in, the other slowly following. Parting my legs, I fit my feet into cracks along the inside. Cautiously, I make my way down, inch by inch, untill my feet finally touch solid ground again.
Coughing, I brush soot from my clothes, anxiously checking my belt, making sure my new Capitol-shiny weapons are still intact. I smile as my fingers brush the gun, a gift received soon after my first kill, travelling along to the specially made battle axe, and the artistically designed flanged mace. Each had previously played a hand in death, each dirtied with innocent blood.
A teenage girl comes into veiw, and I approach her, a false smile planted on my face. "Would this be the Keeni residence? And if so, would a certain Bear Keeni be present at the moment?" The girl stood in place, a baffled look upon her face. "Um, ye-yes, but who are-" I cut her off with a sharp glare, retreiving the gun from my belt. "That's of no importance. Move aside or die." I unceremoniously push her to the side, feel the floor tremble as she falls on her behind, emitting a cry of pain and confusion as she does so.
I find Mr. Bear in what I would assume to be the dining room, his back turned to me. Chuckling I cock the gun, and take aim. This would be the easiest kill, I think. That in mind, I pull the trigger.
