The beach was quite the calming place for a boy like Gregg. It never seemed that there were many boys there; in essence, the beach brought a feeling of security. Though why the beach was so void of men always was a surprise to Gregg. There were plenty of good looking girls on the beach, so why wouldn't they want to be here. Things like the normal guys mind never did make much sense to Gregg, always was he wondering what they thought. Even though he was male, it seemed like his mind and their minds were polar opposites.
Gregg, being the stunner that he was, did love to show off his body. It was pretty great looking, a blessing in his mind. Without his great looks no girls would probably be friends with him, and boys were and never would be an option. Gregg's looks seemed to be the only thing that he had, though he did have quite a few good friends. Maybe he was a good person overall, but it did not seem that way to Gregg. Why would everyone hate him if he was a good person, right?
Basically, Gregg laying in the sun all alone was reminiscent of his life. He never was more than a friend to anyone, always just a friend. He never even built up the courage to ask a girl out, quite sad. The lack of a dad was probably the cause of that. His dad would have told him to man up or something, not to sit around like a little wussy and be only friends. Being all alone on the beach did not help his feelings either, after all, aren't people meant to live their lives in pairs?
