My computer is broken. =/ As of late yesterday afternoon, it's started stalling during the boot-up process, and every time I try to run tests the hard drive test crashes at 31%.
I'm... a wreck about this. That laptop is my baby, and I don't know what to do if my Cereal is royally screwed up. ;_; I have no idea what happened; I'm terrified that something about the 999 rom file corrupted it, but if that's the case I would expect it to have crashed when I first ran that, which was the day before yesterday. My dad and I (mostly him 'cause he's a computer guru) are going to work on it this weekend and bounce questions off our tech friends' heads, but odds are the thing will have to be completely redone. Which means that while the most critical thing- my novel- is mostly safe (I've got pretty recent backups), pretty much everything else I've put on my computer since the last full backup will be gone, including my work for another site, a couple of post outlines for here (sorry gxk D:), my notes for that novel, all my New York City pictures, and my video of the kittens who've been visiting my backyard.
In the meantime, my computer time will has been severely limited. I've been using Mom's computer, but I can't do that continually; my primary option is going to be the family desktop, which is functional but slower than dirt (and, of course, lacks all my files). So expect to see less of me. Which is probably a good thing since this will force me to do more cleaning, but still sucks. D'x
And... yeah, that's that. =P
