Age: 16
Gender: Male
District/Area: District 1
Appearance:
Allen is a bit short, a full head shorter than his fraternal twin, Timothy. He's strong, but his muscles are thin and not very noticable. He's not bulky, in other words. Like his brother, he has several scars, though not quite as many; not because he's a bitter fighter, but because he doesn't get into quite as many fights, and he's considerably faster. His most noticable scar is on his face. Won in a knife fight with another Career, it begins above his right eyebrow, and descends vertically over his eye, his cheekbone and down to his jaw. He also has two thin scars circling his elbow and knee, where the limb was cut off in a fight and medically reattached.
He's an albino; his skin is very pale, his hair is white, and his eyes are violet. His hair was just long enough to pull back, but after his brother was Reaped he decided to start taking things seriously, and let his sister give him a haircut. He's also taken to dying his hair, just for a change of pace. It ends up making an odd, but attractive, contrast. He's quite androgynous, with full lips, high, wide cheekbones, and a rather elegant jawline.
On a dare, he got his left ear pierced, but he regrets it because he's not sure whether or not that's the "gay" side. His friend Luxa insists it's not, but he doesn't trust her.
He wears whatever falls easily to his hand, so his mother usually puts nice clothing out for him. Consequently, he's often quite fashionable and stylish.
Personality:
His brother being Reaped gave him a new perspective on being a Career and the Games. While he insists his not a Career, he trains more frequently, and harder. While he's maintained his mischievousness in some ways, his cheer and strangeness are largely subdued, and he's settled into a sort of deadpan humor and sarcasm sort of niche.
His new calm, derived perhaps from his worry and helplessness in his brother's Reaping, allows him to now act as a mediator in fights, and pull pranks on others without so much as a smirk. While he's decidedly darker in wit and action, he's still essentially a kind person; protective of his sister and mother, and fond of his friends (and perhaps a bit protective of them too).
He enjoys card games, playing the piano, and juggling. He's very talented at knife fighting, hand-to-hand, and knife-throwing. He often incorporates athletic kicks and punches into melee fighting, throwing off his opponent.
One of his great loves is eating, and another is performing. If he survives his teenage years, his plan is to be a musician or a cook. If he was Reaped, he'd rise up to the task, but inside, he'd be terrified, and very certain of his death.
History:
In their younger years, he and his twin were inseparable, but their relationship was quite odd. Timothy was, by all accounts, a bully to his younger-by-three-minutes little brother. This aggressiveness was nurtured by his father, and Timothy became a rising star in the open-secret Career underground. However, Allen never fought back, or got angry. He took the abuse, and continued to follow Timothy like a puppy.
Perhaps because of this, Allen was never quite up to snuff. While his relationship with his brother became much better when they were older, his relationship with his father was very lacking. Allen was constantly in his older brother's shadow in the eyes of his father; nothing he did was quite as good. Rather than make him resent his brother, this made Allen resent his father's inability to appreciate him.
His relationship with his mother is far better. She encourages his out-of-the-box thinking, and his odd ventures into juggling, music and other things.
His sister is, perhaps, his best friend, second only to his brother. They play pranks on others, carry each others secrets, and occasionally train together. Their relationship will get stronger as Timothy is gone.
As far as material things, his home life is largely comfortable. His family is a leading marketer in sapphires in District One.
As far as fighting is concerned, he specializes in an agile, acrobatic style that uses double daggers.
He has a job in the library of District One, running errands for the head Librarian and babysitting the toddlers and babies. It's a job he very much enjoys.
He has an ex-girlfriend named Moa Gaffe, who's a Wanderer and, by Capitol standards, a terrorist. He's currently attempting to date Sarah Klipper, the younger sister of his "nemesis", Dimitri.
After his brother was Reaped, his personality took a turn for the darker side, but he also became a more serious, dedicated person. His father was ecstatic that Timothy was Reaped. His mother heartbroken, and went a bit crazy with grief, as she is sure that Timothy is going to die. Tensions in the Hearst Household are currently at an all time high. After his brother's death, his mother went completely off the deep end, and his father wallowed in guilt. Allen and Tabitha held the house together, though they each felt their loss dearly.
