Personality:
Crimson’s birth into District 11 was perhaps the worst fortune she could have been dealt. This wasn’t because District 11 is the poorest district but because its citizens were forced to work in the sun all day. Crimson’s skin is pale as white marble, although her arms are freckled from sun exposure and scarred from being scratched by branches. At least once a year, usually during harvest times, she suffers a major skin burn and is forced to stay indoors for a few days.
Crimson is about average height for a girl, 5’5”, with red shoulder length hair and big dark grey eyes that are flecked with bits of green. She would have an hourglass figure if she had enough to meat on her bones, but unfortunately she rarely gets enough to eat. She has long legs that serve her well when she needs to run home before dark, which is often because she tends to lose track of time. Crimson wears shabby clothing that was often passed down from her older brother so it doesn’t fit her correctly, but she tries to stay as clean as possible, loathing, although often suffering, the bad hygiene of her district. She has a nervous habit of biting her fingernail and this causes them to be short and sometimes ragged.
Crimson favors her right side unconsciously due to an ear injury that left her partially deaf on the left.
Crimson has always felt like something of an outcast in a community that is generally jovial. Many times in the fields people will bust out into song and soon the whole district is singing, but she could never join in. Crimson is tone deaf due to being partially deaf in her left ear and this has caused her to not join the others in song. Being unable to sing in District 11 feels almost as bad as being extremely sensitive to sunlight. While the others are singing and basking in the suns glow Crimson has to quietly work as she feels her skin burning slowly. After years of this people forgot about her injury and assumed she was just quiet or shy, and Crim unknowingly took on that role as well.History: Codeword: odair
In her solitude Crimson has learned to be independent and has grown both pessimistic and distrustful of others. She couldn’t pinpoint the moment she began assuming everyone had ulterior motives but when someone lives their life alone those thoughts begin to grow. She’s also extremely proud and unwilling to accept help from others unless she absolutely has to.
Crimson does love her family, but feels that she doesn’t have much in common with them. She feels like something of an outsider. Still she’d die for any of them if she had too and she knows they would for her as well. It’s a strong, although sometimes distant relationship that she values highly.
Crimson has a very inquisitive and curious mind. She loves to question things but most importantly she loves to discover the answer for herself. This will often get her into trouble and as she gets older it becomes worse and worse, but Crim isn’t happy until she understands whatever question has become routed in her mind.
She’s also extremely perceptive, with excellent eye sight that more then makes up for her lack of hearing or singing abilities. Crimson will notice things in people or her surroundings that others don’t. However, her curiosity and perceptiveness has also led to her being extremely impulsive. Crimson will often times not think about the consequences before she acts, a dangerous trait when one lives in District 11.
Finally, Crimson is very creative and she loves to draw and paint. She always had a knack for sketching what was in her head because she was so observant but was further trained by her grandmother. Occasionally she’ll make dyes or paints from plants and fruits but often she has to be happy with sticks and dirt. Crimson’s father finds her talent to be slightly annoying and not useful to Panem in any way. Sometimes her family will wake up in the morning to discover large landscapes or people’s faces carved into the ground outside their house. Eventually it’s washed or trampled away but Crimson tries to replace this art as soon as possible. Her father simply calls this talent irrelevant.
