The sun found its way into the eyes of a very sleepy and grumpy girl, one who went by the name of Kaden Hale Argall. She mumbled as the brightness made her blink, the unforgiving rays making her pupils shrink and her lids squint. The one thing about the Spring sun was the fact the sky could still be so gloomy while the sun was brighter than ever. At times, she imagined the sun as a hole in a piece of fabric, letting the true light through.
She lay on her back in the meager grass of the Seam, near the fence, and, past that, the forest. The trees were thin where she was, and even her position right by the trunk of a rather large one couldn't keep the sun from reaching her face.
A small rag filled with some edible roots and various other plants- all harmless- was attached to her belt, along with two knives and a small piece of wire she had found. She really didn't know why she kept the small wire, but she figured she might as well keep it to fix something later on, should something need fixing. Best to be safe than sorry.
She heard the leaves on the ground rustle somewhere in the direction her feet were pointing, the person most likely coming from somewhere in town, by the direction. Kay wasn't the least bit worried- denizens of district twelve were safe enough, and she wasn't breaking any laws at the moment. She was a bit curious as to whose footsteps they were, though, as she didn't recognize the sound. Picking her head up, she vaguely remembered the figure.
