So I decided to just write down everytime I got a games idea and make a post out of it at some point.. well anyway that time is now. I in no way think The Games are lacking as is, this is just my brain crack
Weapons:
Teeth and nails – I know I would use 'em if I was in the arena... maybe make them a desperation move like if you're at 30+ damage with no weapon you can use them...
Different arrows (flaming arrows possible if near a fire maybe? Armor piercing?)
baseball bats (or other sports stuff)
planks of wood
shuriken (pretty please?) -used like throwing knives
Scythes!
Staffs
Daggers
Stiletto
Butterfly knife
Scalpel
throwing axe
Chainsaw? @_@ ok that one I doubt
Sickle
javelin
sling
slingshot
bloodbath items:
flashlights
food – the wealth was supposed to eliminate the careers' need to hunt
filled backpacks (more unlikely)
filled water bottles
Brass knuckles (increase to un-armed fighting)
steal-toe boots (even more foot protection)
Disinfectant (to eliminate the risk of disease from injuries)
maybe some more clothes (for the lols)
edit: One loaded gun (with only one bullet, almost certainly and insta, just to make things REALLY interesting)
Injuries (some of these might already exist I think):
Crushed chest (insta)
broken rib - punctured lung (eventual insta?)
eye lost
teeth lost
disemboweled (insta?)
crushed foot/hand/leg/arm/ex-cetera
knocked out
stabbed in spine (paralysis)
tongue loss
sprained ankle/wrist
stabbed in stomach - internal damage (death by end of day)
strangled (as a whip insta)
blinded (with facial cuts temporary or if both eyes are lost, if tribute was not already blind who they are attacking is randomized)
dislocated shoulder
General:
Environment specific damage – bring some use to those useless items make it cost heath to travel through specific areas without certain items (ie desert without sunblock = -5) or even make certain spots impassible without specified equipment (ie cliff face with climbing gear) actually I could come up with a lot of these @_@
First night as a day – I know we try and get through the days quickly but there was a lot of importance to the first night in THG. I think was should have it set up like a separate day in the games with the alliance that won the wealth free to RP in any and all cornucopia neighboring areas to hunt the other tributes who would hide there. Maybe have dice rolls for weather or not they find the tributes hiding there. I think it would add some to the start of the games, give even more reason for people to go after the wealth, and make the careers even more deadly. Plus it would give us some more first day death
Temperature effects – We post weather stats anyway why not have damage for people who don't have appropriate clothing for severe weather?
Agility station – less waiting time for posts when attacking (ie. two posts instead of three at the bloodbath) or even double attacks possible with multiple weapons...
Traps for Tributes – I'm pretty sure this was already suggested but have trapping as a means to catch tributes.
Burns – as a possible result of attempting to light a fire without the station
Edit: Weapon Loss - if both hands are damaged to the point where you wouldn't be able to hold a weapon you continue fighting un-armed.

Practical Joke theamed arena's with those flag guns (a la Bang Bang) in the bloodbath and traps straight from the mind of the Joker littered throughout.
Edgar Allan Poe themed arena with raven mutts and a moor area (credit to Ali), maybe have killer tributes constantly hearing the hearts of the dead, all that fun stuff. ^_^
I might add to this if I think of more. I don't actually think that all these should be put into the games (though that would be awesome) I just need to post these things before I go crazy XD
