Age: 14
Gender: Male
District/Area: District 3
Appearance:
Alex is on the shorter end of the height spectrum (does that exist?) at about 5'6". He has brown hair, startling green eyes, and has needed to wear glasses since the age of five.Personality:
He is what we today would call a stereotypical "nerd." Short, skinny, pale kid who doesn't feel the need for social interation. He's self-conscious about his height but doesn't let it show. His hair is always messy. Always. It's like it's rebelling against him.
His hands are covered in injuries; minor cuts and scrapes. This is due to his work in the factories; he knows how it all works, he just somehow can't operate it well, which leads to the injuries.
Alex isn't antisocial; he just prefers his own company. He has a paranoid streak and is always worried that if he gets too close to someone, they'll turn on him. He has a covert collection of books and poetry, and fancies himself a bit of a writer. (He's not that good).History:
He wishes that he could be out in nature. In fact, he really hopes to be someday. While he enjoys the technology he is surrounded with daily, he doesn't think that life is just about working. While he hopes to be outdoors, he definitely doesn't want it to be during the Games! (too bad for him, I do!)
He's a smartass, plain and simple. He doesn't mean to be at this point; his automatic defense system is just his biting wit. This has lost him a few potential friends, but those who know this is just his reaction seem to understand him better.
His kindness, however, is unbounded to those less fortunate and closest to him. While he does play by the rules, he'll shatter them to pieces for a true friend.
Alex's family...well, really, there's nothing too special about them. He has a mother and father, both factory workers, and a ten-year old brother, Matthew. His parents are constantly away, leaving Alex to be Matthew's only companion. As a result, they've grown closer together than they would have otherwise.Codeword: Odair
When Alex's parents are home, they pressure both boys to do their best in school and at work, hoping they will find a better life. They love each other, but it doesn't always seem that way.
Alex was bullied in school at a young age, but now he is mostly ignored. He doesn't have many friends, just one or two close one that he has gained the trust of over the years. He is fiercly loyal to them, and would almost die for them.
