Well I saw you fall back once love.
But I can't stay.
Stay like this weather swirls,
Cause you've become sick like this winter girl.
Two more days, just two more. . .
But I can't stay.
Stay like this weather swirls,
Cause you've become sick like this winter girl.
Two more days, just two more. . .
Ilene's fingers drummed rhythmically on the wooden desk that sat in her room. Aiden, hurry up. She'd been waiting an hour already for her brother to show. What was taking him so long? She gave up preoccupying her hands and leaned back in the matching wooden chair. Stiflingly a yawn, she glanced at the white clock that adorned the wall. Only noon. Why was she so tired? She had gotten a good night's sleep, so why should her eyelids be falling? And only a second ago, she was ready to run a marathon. Boy, did she confuse herself.
As if staring at the clock would make it move faster, her gaze bore into the large hand, urging it forward with her mind. Giving up, only after a minute, she stood, letting her long striped shirt hide the fact that she was wearing no pants. Over to the wide open window, Ilene leaned out, letting the Spring breeze move her hair in a flurry of motion. District One was teaming with life on this bright Saturday. For a moment, Ilene wish she could freeze time and take a photo of it, from the shop keepers making their deals of the day to the soon-to-be careers practicing their skills with wooden swords. Light pouring down from above, making the resident's white smiles glow. Purple orchids growing neatly in aligned planters, a sight for sore eyes. She searched in the streets for a sign of her brother, yet there was none. Come on. Seriously? Her remaining index finger found its way to her teeth, where the nail was slowly nibbled upon.
That's when she spotted the brown head, bobbing among a crowd that was gathered by an auction. Delight welled up inside of her, a smile growing on her face. But. . . was he going further away? He was going opposite of the community home. Her eyes followed him, snaking through the crowd, greeting people along as he went. Heart in throat, she watched in embrace a girl from behind, his chin on her shoulder.
And that's when it hit her. It wasn't Aiden at all. She felt her face relax and allowed herself to tumble back into the room, laughing slightly. She was too protective of her older brother.
Now I see.
Don't you say that I've gone crazy.
Because I haven't gone crazy yet.
I just lost my mind,
But I still got you.
Don't you say that I've gone crazy.
Because I haven't gone crazy yet.
I just lost my mind,
But I still got you.
