Sospecho que es inútil toda resistencia
Estoy predestinado
No hay que darle vueltas
Step, step, step.
That was the theme of Seah Storstrand's entire night. He slipped out just after the anthem played and the faces of the dead started to stare at him from the sky, a whopping six extra to add to the list. Twelve had died already, and the number irked him as the night went dark again. Half dead on Day Two, eleven left to kill if he ever wanted to celebrate his eighteenth birthday, but the thought scared him more than anything. It seemed too good to be true, almost. He needed just the perfect cards to play, an exact plan of action to take to win, and somehow it had all fallen into place. But the incident with the anti-venom had Seah staring at his alliance members, wondering where he stood with them.
They had given him everything. Life through the Bloodbath, a successful fight Day Two. A harpoon, a mace, matches, a plethora of other useful items. Everything but the anti-venom when he needed it. Three out of the four could have it for certain, he knew. If he hadn't wandered off into the jungle, hadn't received the tiny parachute, he would have died in front of them. Sat there, limp, until it finally drained the life from him.
His decision was simple enough to make. Stuff everything into a bag, take his sword in hand, don't look back, don't take anything from them. Don't make a sound.
He ran for hours until his the bottoms of his feet began to ache. Combat boots weren't exactly comfortable in the best of situations, but they provided a barrier to keep his feet safe. Sweat gathered in his socks and rested between his toes, making a squish sound every time he moved forward.
Eventually he slowed to a walk, but only as the vegetation around him became lighter. No more jungle, no more shrubs, just long grasses extending as far as he could see. Licking his lips to relieve them of the dry feeling, he smiled at the area around him. It was nothing like home, but something majestic about it made him feel as if he could stay there forever. Something calm, even for the Games.
A stray rabbit heard his footsteps and flashed by in front of him, catching his eye for a second until his heart rate settled back to it's normal pace. Only a rabbit, not a tribute. Not a mutt.
Where there were animals, there had to be water, and it only took Seah a few minutes to find the spot. A small watering hole was before him, full of life in the growing daylight. Reaching back, he plucked his two water jugs from his pack and stepped forward, filling both and dropping an iodine tablet in each. He set them aside before he stepped in the pool, splashing water over his skin and clothes to clean off two days worth of dust.
Everything moved by so slowly, the seconds ticking by with nothing to do but sit and think. It was all he ever really did, wasn't it? At home, training, thinking, running, avoiding. Seah should have been used to it, but it only seemed like another world. He wanted to stand up, to splash around in the water, to speak up, yell, complain, fight, live. He ended up doing none of those things. Instead, he shook himself off and downed an entire jug of water before filling another.
How exciting his life had become.
Another moving creature passed by to the right, snapping Seah to attention. His eyes settled on another rabbit, unaware of his presence or else somehow daring enough to be near him. He instantly pounced on it, dropping all of his items behind him in the process.

The rabbit's tiny legs were all that he could see as it dashed away from him.
[[Seah drank clean water and filled up his two empty water jugs. All of his iodine tablets are now gone.]]
