Colan groaned as he heard the usual chirping of the bird outside his window. "Every single morning.." he moaned sleepily. He rubbed his eyes with his large hands, sliding his feet over the edge of his bed. His bright blue eyes were filled with exhaustion from the previous day's work, and his muscles were stiff.
He got up slowly, wincing as pain shot through his upper thighs. Slowly he did his usual morning routine, getting dressed in his normal jeans and a white t-shirt, brushing his hair despite how messy it always was, and walked down the hall towards the small kitchen.
Colan could barely smell bacon sizzling on the frying pan, a rare treat for him and his dad. He walked into the kitchen, nodding in greeting once he saw his father. "Colan, before you go, I need to talk to you" his father said quickly. Colan raised an eyebrow, his eyes filled with curiousity.
"You finished all of your work today and I think it best that you just stay home or.. hang out with some friends today" he said, Colan could easily hear the hesitation in his voice. Colan shook his head quickly "No dad, I need to help you get things done or we'll get behind, and I don't have any friends to-" he was cut off as his father held out his hand "No, I insist" he said firmly. Colan clenched his overly large hands into fists, nodding slightly.
He walked out without another word, or without eating anything. He grabbed his jacket by the door before slamming the door behind him. His shoes made crunching noises on the dirt beneathe him as he stomped down the road towards.. anywhere. He didn't exactly know where he was going to go, he had never been given or ever wanted a break.
Colan glanced around warily, his serious expression on his face once again. He saw a bench up ahead that was empty, deciding to go there until he found out what he was going to do. He sat down slowly, knowing how awkward and uncomfortable he must look to other people right now. He rubbed his hands on his jeans nervously, his mind completely empty, it was like he was lost somehow.
