Walking silently and lightly down the small street Jetaret heaved a sigh. So much to do and so little time, but this task,she felt, would take forever. Today was shopping day and it was her job to provide for herself. Looking over her quick scrawl she saw the products she needed to survive another week. Determining the route that would take the shortest amount of time her feet had brought her to the marketplace.

The smells of delicacies that no one could afford hit her nose like a wall of bricks. The constantly famished girl felt the saliva pool inside her mouth. If only she could just try a pastry or nibble a piece of chocolate. Shaking her head she got back down to business. Dreaming was for people with to much spare time and she had kept to her agenda since it was required. Grasping her little woven bag that held her week's earning she entered the market.

Instantly she felt like hiding. There were just so many people to try and dodge. To not make eye-contact with or nor to talk to. A girl like her really had no business there but if wanted to survive to the next week she had to get food. Walking up to the meat stall she asked quietly,"How much for a pound of meat?" she knew the butcher would give her a funny look and wonder what kind. She really didn't care what the meat was, as long as it was edible she was fine with it.

It was time to find some clothes for the reaping, and Gabriel knew just what to get. Something cheap. He didn't have much time but he knew that he needed to look good. "Cheap, and good. Cheap and good." he almost chanted to himself. This isn't the first time he had been to this clothing store and he's sure it won't be the last.

As he walks down the Mens wear isle's he sees this white tuxedo with a pink tie. It was almost too good to be true. Actually it was too good to be true. The price tag was enormous. He didn't even own 1/10th of that to himself. Now he has to settle for something less. A lot less. He grabs a semi-nice T-shirt that has a picture of the district three emblem on it, and a pair of cargo pants to match. His feet didn't matter to him at all so he bought a pair of sandals that didn't really go with the outfit at all. He doesn't wear hats or glasses because he wants people to admire his hair and eyes.

He finds this trip not so complicated after all. "I'll take these, please." He says to the cashier. He grabs his bags and leaves the store quickly. On his way home he passes by the marketplace and spots a girl. She looks as if she's afraid of the person at the meat counter. He decides to walk over and help. Turns out, it was Jet. "Hey you!" He calls out to her. "How have you been?" He offers a hug and hopes for one in return. It has been two days since their last encounter but the feelings haven't been lost in time.

"Gabe!" sighed Jetaret in relief. At least there was one person she could trust on in this square. Grabbing her little bag of meat she looked up at Gabe,"What brings you to the marketplace lily pad?" she asked with a small smile. With her busy to do list she had brought him to the next stall with her. The fruit stall was covered in an abundance of brightly colored jewels. Picking up a few bananas she haggled for them with the cashier. Her voice had never gone above a quiet talking level and she still had gotten her price. Moving on she twistedthe small datachips one her bracelet. So he was real. After the two days she thought she had imagined the entire thing.

Picking out one of the spotted yellow banana she quickly devoured it knowing that it was her food and her property. Still looking at Gabe she wondered, How did a girl like me end up with a guy like him, kicking the little stones in her path she continued pondering. Then thinking once again to herself she wondered if there were places outside of Panem. Then shaking her head again she thought, No dreaming

Gabriel held up the T-shirt and Cargo Pants. "I had gotten these," He replies. "At the clothing store just down the street, for the reaping. I was walking past here and noticed you standing there. How are you, Apple?" He now has a smile on his face, one of the warm non-alarming nature and now he can't stop. It's Jet! She is here. I feel like I've known her forever.

He begins to automatically lean forward into a slight peck and jumps back. What am I doing? I've only known her for 3 days I can't kiss her every time I see her no matter how bad I want to. Finally he realizes that he has to be home soon, and in the interest of time he just does nothing. "Alright, I'll see you later, Apple <3."
