Personality:
Marlena is very athletic, shes a bit shorter then average but she has no trouble keeping pace with taller people. Her hair is cut short, always above her shoulders and never in her eyes. Her facial features are sharp and defined although her smile is warm. Her dark brown eyes contrast her lighter brown hair. She dresses casually but avoids bright colors, usually wearing olive green, grays and blacks.
She always sits straight and walks quickly. Never slouching or dithering unnecessarily. Although her movements are quick she does them with a certain finesse, each little move has a purpose. Her subtle gestures as well as her eyes can tell you a lot about what shes thinking. Aside from that the only other notable thing is that her hands are never empty, in training she usually carries a short sword which is her weapon of choice. Out of training she carries a small sketch pad.
Marlena is a strong willed individual. Her sharp features are complemented by a fierce attitude. When she was growing up people used to tell her parents they were raising a natural tribute. It was meant as a complement. Marlena and her whole family took it as such. She got out of a lot of schooling in order to make room for her training. In training she is a force to be reckoned with and shows no mercy, destroying most challengers her size. However thats not all she is.History:
When the fight is over she will extend her hand to she adversary who she had just fought. With a smile and a handshake she will point out their flaws, and if they take her criticism the right way they may return the favor. She savors competition but also enjoys friendship and respect.
Having skipped a lot of school shes not terribly smart but she is creative. In her free time she sketches images she has seen on the tv. Her favorite topics are the games and the battles of the rebellion. Some of her artwork is frowned upon, they say it sympathises with the rebels, Marlena rebuke their criticism. She takes neither the rebel nor capitol side, instead she simply draws what she observes. Her art reflects her personality. Fierce but deep.
Some of her personality flaws include a uncontrollable zeal for competition. Some times she just doesn't know when to stop. Another major flaw is her inability to sympathize with those whom she can not identify with. This leads her to be neutral on many thing which bothers people. She just doesn't understand their either your with us or against us mentality. In summery, most people just cant understand her and she cant understand them.
Marlena is an only child and the sole focus of her parents. They nurtured and cared for her, when they discovered her passion for competition they directed her towards the games. Atfirst she didn't like being a carrer, she was young, hotheaded and almost always lost. She got frustrated and wanted to quit but her parents made her stay the course.Codeword: Odair
She's glad they did. As the grew older and developed both her skills and personality she grew to love the challenge and respect being a career got her. She has many friends and rivals, some times these two groups overlap. She got better and better until she was good enough to warrant time away from the training center.
Recently she took up drawing as a means to express herself. Her drawings are brutal and sometimes exaggerated depictions of the games and other battles, some times they feature topics which are considered taboo to illustrate or talk about.
She does, of course want to participate in the games but it isn't who only goal. After she becomes to old she can probably get a job training other careers, she does have quite a good reputation among her peers. Shes a career, but she's got options.
