Hattie Clayver, District 4

Hattie stands at a decent height of around 5'6, with lean limbs and a trim, curvy figure. Her skin is a creamy white, and she has thick, wavy blonde hair that falls down to her waist. She usually wears her hair down. Her eyes are an icy blue, and they're usually hard and unfeeling, and she usually has a bored expression on her face.

One of Hattie's features that she strongly dislikes about herself is the long scar that comes from the corner of her lip up to her cheekbone on the right side of her face. She used to try and hide it with her hair, but gave up, and now wears it proudly.

Hat could be considered a bombshell, so to speak; she's got the killer body and the long blonde hair. But most people don't know that she had her appendix removed, so she has a large scar on her abdomen from that. She normally covers up; she is quite self conscious.

Hattie rarely smiles, and the reason behind that is that she has a crooked front tooth, and four silver molars. Those who are graced with her smile are truly loved by Hattie.

Hattie is not the friendliest person on the planet. In fact, she's not really friendly at all. She usually wears a bored or annoyed expression on her face, and is extremely sarcastic. She has only one real friend, and even he can't handle her attitude at times. She usually lets competition and ambition get in the way of her social interaction, which is the main reason why she doesn't have many friends.

Hattie has sort of a monotone voice, and rarely gets excited about anything. She's calm, cool and collected, even in dire situations. When she spars with people, she usually wins because she is so perceptive and in tune with the other person's body movements that she can almost read their mind. She is incredibly gifted with knives and throwing stars, but is almost useless with a bow an arrow.

Hattie is very arrogant and snobbish, but is incredibly determined, strong willed and competitive. She trains constantly, and is very determined on being top of her class. Though she really wants to break out of that hardened exterior, and actually try to make some friends. Or at least meet people that will somewhat tolerate her.

Hattie lives with her father and two younger siblings; Jinx and Bree. Jinx is an eleven year old boy, and Bree is her five year old sister. Hattie's mother took off just after Bree was born; she said she couldn't handle the family any more, and just got up and left. Hattie's father, Damien, was absolutely crushed. Even though he put on a brave face for the kids, it took him years to stop looking at the pictures of her, to stop waiting for her to come back, crying himself to sleep every night.

After her mother left, Hattie began to harden up. She made sure that her siblings were fed and went to school, and she helped train them with knife throwing and survival skills, because they are also Careers, to be used in the arena. One day, when Hattie came home late after training practice, her father who had been drinking, got upset at Hattie, thinking she was her mother, and lashed out with a knife, earning Hattie the scar she wears on her face.

After that encounter with her father, Hattie never trusted him again. Even though she understood he was drunk, she never trusted him. She tries desperately to keep her siblings away from him, even though her father gave up drinking forever. Therefore, Hattie mistrusts people, and takes nothing for granted.
