Taffy is much too pretty to work and feels she was obviously born into the wrong family. Standing at five foot eleven inches, six foot one if you measure to the top of her bright blonde curls, Taffy is certainly a head turner. The tumbling blonde curls conceal the fact that her left ear is smaller than her right, a birth defect that has left her almost half deaf. Her fair skin is not plagued by blemishes nor scars, but seems to glow when the light hits it. She sends her blank, empty minded stares into the world around her through pale gray-blue eyes hidden behind long lashes. Her supple pink lips are quite often turned up in friendly smile, exposing her slightly crooked front teeth. Taffy’s face is still round with signs of her young age, cheeks often flushed with blush giving her an air of innocence.

The girl’s willowy form at one hundred and twenty five pounds suggests anything but. Taffy does little to conceal her moderately large bust, usually choosing low cut shirts that are just a size too small for her. She likes the way the men look at her and her long legs, often exposed in shorts that come only to her mid thigh, weather permitting. She either ignores or is oblivious to the women’s jealous whispers and disapproving glares. Taffy’s body is soft from the lack of much physical labor. Slender fingers extend from her delicate hand, free of calluses or scrapes or bruises. Her smile is quite contagious to those around her, a trait she is quite proud of.

Personality:

Taffy has a big heart, probably to make up for her less than impressive brain. She trusts easily and feels deeply about just about everything. She has fallen in and out if love more times than she can count, though admittedly that isn’t that high a number. She has little control over her emotions and is susceptible to outbursts of pure joy to bouts of bottomless fountains of tears depending on how the mood strikes her. She does try to stay positive though and smile often. She feels smiling can help even the most dire of circumstances. She hates the Hunger Games and cries when she has to watch them. Every time the Reaping comes around she gets panicky and clings to her parents.

Taffy is very naïve, a product of her upbringing as the favored child and doted only daughter. She falls prey to wild stories and flat out lies and schemes of her brothers. She sees good in people easily and it distracts her from seeing any bad. She is fiercely loyal to her family and blind to any mistakes they make. Though her brothers despise her, she loves them both greatly and has no clue of their hatred for her. Taffy has been described as a bit of an air head. She is the kind of girl who will hear a joke and not laugh until hours later lying in bed after thinking about it all day. She doesn’t understand a lot of what happens around her and gets distracted rather easily if she feels she can‘t grasp the topic of conversation. However once in a great while she will chime in during a conversation with an intellectual thought, surprising those around her.

Taffy likes to watch people. She likes to see how they interact with others and imagine herself in their shoes. Its one of the only intellectual skills she has to be honest. She is observant and holds a great memory when it comes to names and faces and livelihoods. She likes to try and get to know the people around her and has a very innocent way of doing it. She uses her friendly smile and bubbly personality to get close to people and then proceeds to question everything she doesn’t understand, which is usually a lot. She doesn’t have a very good filter between her brain and her moth and speaks without really thinking. This has lead to her getting on people’s nerves in many situations.

Taffy is also well aware of her looks. She spends almost as much time staring at her own reflection as she does watching others. She is comfortable with her body with the exception of her underdeveloped ear and enjoys having people’s eyes on her. She is a very touchy feely girl, giving out hugs in often unwanted abundance. Taffy does have her morals though, despite the rumors about her….

History:

Taffy was born the youngest of three children to Robert and Lacey Riddle, both skilled medicine workers. Though her parents and elder brothers, Thomas and Jacob, have all worked very hard in their professions, Taffy has never been expected to lift a finger. The Darling daughter was doted upon by both parents and the favoritism has lead to a heated sibling rivalry between the boys and their sister. While Thomas and Jacob were taught the techniques and skills needed to follow in their parents footsteps, Taffy was left to her own devices.

As she grew older she garnered more affection from her parents and more hatred from her siblings. Taffy never seemed to notice her brothers’ negative feelings though and adored her brothers as any younger sibling would. Taffy spent her days wandering her district and socializing with those who really didn’t want to socialize at all. Each time the Games would come around Robert and Lacey would fuss and worry over their children, but especially Taffy. “Taffy is so frail and weak and delicate” they would tell their sons. Every Reaping the boys wished she’d be called away.

Taffy found herself spending more and more time away from her family as she got older. Perhaps it was her curiosity about how others functioned that drove her further and further from home. Taffy found herself spending whole days just watching people and smiling from a distance or interacting with those who would talk to her. It wouldn’t take a person long for them to realize that Taffy wasn’t the brightest crayon in the box and often times the girl would return home with things missing from her person. Her parents became concerned someone would trick her out of more than trinkets and ordered that one of her brothers escort her from then on when she was out. The boys were not terribly pleased at that…

Taffy isn’t completely useless. While she doesn’t actually work, she does have some chores at home to keep her busy. She doesn’t mind doing them though because it makes her feel important to the family. She cleans up around their home and entertains any guests if the family is at work. Her parents know that they should make her do more but she is their little angel and they hat to see her struggle with anything. They hope more than anything that she will succeed in finding a good husband who can provide for her and maintain her lifestyle.
