Appearance:
Leo is a meat and potatoes kind of guy. Simple, gets thejob done is his motto. His hair falls messily across his head in varying shades of dark blonde, from the sun he’s always drawn to. Sometimes, if it’s really good weather, his hair looks sort of auburn coloured. He can’t really be bothered, and doesn’t really want to, get it cut much so it is quite long, for a guy, falling just under the nape of his neck. His eyes are a weird shade of gray-green which he isn’t too bothered about himself. They used to be a darker green, almost hazel, when he was younger but now they’ve somehow faded and have a little bit of blue in them now.Personality:
Hands which are unscarred reflect his lazy, laid back attitude to life. Although saying this, he does try to build his muscles up, mainly for show. Like his muscles, he’s also kinda skinny and lanky. He isn’t underweight for his 6ft 1 height but towards the lower end of his recommended weight at 11 stone. One of those annoying people who seem to eat everything their greedy eyes fall on yet don’t gain hardly anything, Leo does tend to annoy his sister who seems to stray onto the chunkier end of the scale.
His face is easy on the eyes but sadly he didn’t inherit his Mum’s sky-high cheekbones although they still look prominent. His nose is long and straight down the middle of his face, separatig his two almond shaped eyes. His lips are quite full for a guy which he’s always been kind of embarassed about whenever his sister brought it up. Overall, Leo has a typical ‘pretty boy’ face which his father frequently labelled him with.
Light sunkissed skin, which is somehow darker on his hands, matches the colour of his hair well. He has two dimples which show through when he grins, which is often. Leo doesn’t have any facial hair. He tried to grow a moustache once but it failed miserably so he hasn’t tried it again for fear of embarassment from his sister.
Leo usually wears a black sweater and jeans. He doesn’t like wearing shoes or socks and sometimes he gets away with not wearing them but his Mum usually forced him to anyway, much to Leo’s irritation. Sometimes he’ll carry around the knife he keeps handy for carving apples with, a particular passtime of his.
Leo is a very laid back guy. He doesn’t like to rush, or to hurry with things because he sees it as a pointless exercise of stress. You could call him lazy although he prefers to think of it as slow working. Most days he’ll just lay down on a patch of grass and go to sleep because he doesn’t feel like doing anything else. He’s a dreamer, if anything. He wants to travel through all the districts although he knows the danger in the world, mostly from the Games. Leo doesn’t really take the idea as seriously as he should, although it’s probably because he doesn’t want to.History:
When meeting new people, Leo is jokey and natural. He likes to meet new people and has a friendly atmosphere about him. Kind of like your best friend’s brother who you’ve had a crush on who was always nice to you. He makes friends easily although usually tends to lose the ones he already has in favour of new ones because of his short attention span.
His non-existant temper – well, mostly – means he’s a very placid type of person. More the peacekeeper than the soldier, he likes to think. If anyone argues around him he tries to stop it, ignoring what anyone may see on the matter. Leo is also quite an artistic kind of guy although he’d laugh if you said that to him. When he’s lying down, staring up at the cloud filled skies he’ll see countless things in them. He also likes to draw although he wouldn’t say he’s good. Everyone else would but he wouldn’t because he’s such a modest person.
Slightly naïve about the world Leo is a hopeless romantic. He’s fallen for most of the girls he thinks are pretty within a three mile radius, sometimes more than once. His mind isn’t very logical although he is quite intelligent, he just doesn’t think so. He has a positive, can-do attitude about him which contrasts his work load at the moment. Although he can lead if he really forces himself to, he prefers to be lead by someone else than to do all the work for himself.
Leonardo Marling was born to Scott Marling and Candice Rivettes on February 28th. The pregnancy hadn’t been planned although the two people rejoiced in their new baby as much as they had with their first – the one that was planned – Cassie. The two parents didn’t have much but they had enough love to more than make up for the material needs.Codeword: Odair
They had a peaceful living, by the coast. Scott would go out and fish for the whole day, to earn the money, and Candice would stay at home and look after the children. Although once Leo had hit 11 she would leave him at home with his big sister Cassie, who was 15 at the time, to go and fish along with Scott to earn a bit more money. Times were good and the family never bought anything beyond their means. Sure, it was a simple upbringing but Leo was never pressured to do anything since no-one ever really asked him to. That was the way he liked it, as well.
Cassie and Leo were close siblings. They’d play fight together in their younger days and would occaisionally continue the tradition right up until Cassie was 17 and she couldn’t be bothered to anymore. Leo hadn’t been much of a fighter – he wasn’t really now – but he didn’t really care.
When Leo would go out to the hills near the back of his house he’d meet some kids from the neighbourhood along the way. That was where he met his best friend, Zach Lones, who he’s still in vague contact today to Leo’s surprise, although not really by choice. The two boys would go fishing mostly, since Zach thought sleeping didn’t get much done when there was so much to do. Leo would lay back on the rocks carving apples while Zach did all the fishing. Then, at the end Zach would go back to Leo’s house.
It wasn’t surprising, then, that Zach and Cassie started a relationship. Leo didn’t even see it coming, which everyone, sometimes including Leo, found hillarious. The two spent more and more time together and eventually became engaged. Leo accepted it and wondered how it had all happened so fast.
Money began to increase as Leo’s parents sometimes made him work to. This was probably what really fuelled his passion for wanting to travel. He’s been saving up, in secret of course, so he’d have enough money if he ran away. It’s not that he doesn’t like his parents or his family, just that he’s gotten bored of where he is now and wants something different. Something new.

Haven't read the books so I might've gotten discriptions wrong of District 4...?
