Calista Gracious D11

Calista is a very small child for her age. Often she is mistaken for a nine or eight year old. But her hair and eyes make up for her tiny figure, effectively giving her a slightly older look.

Her hair is straight and a beautiful bronze color. It falls a few inches down her back as her aunt just can't bear to cut it. The hair isn't very thick- but yet it gives off a sense of fullness anyways. Well, it would if it wasn't for the fact that it wasn't able to be at perfect health in current conditions.

The second most intriguing feature is her eyes- a strangely deep and thoughtful look graced her eyes. The chocolate pools aren't mesmerizing- as maybe they will be when she gets old- but instead, the thoughtfulness is happy and curious. Hardly any room is taken up by depression and anger.

Calista skin tone is slightly tanned, which fits considering she lives in district 11. Her play by is Mackenzie Foy

Calista, as a still young person, is also full of happiness. Maybe this is because of the fact that her family provide a better atmosphere then most children get. But like many who have a charming and giggly exterior, she harbors dark memories that she has pushed as far as she can to the back of her mind.

These memories, the memory of her mother are constantly on her tail, in her dreams and even sometimes sneaking their way into her daydreams. Course, she doesn't tell anyone about them. No need to worry father about thoughts she had over her mothers death. Calista doesn't like to push her problems onto others- so she only shares any sadness to her sister Jade, as the two sister are inseparable usually.

One bad thing is that Calista trusts too easily- theres no need to suspect anyone in her eyes. No reason they would want to hurt her or anyone. The capitol of course, is too terrible to ignore. But yet Calista does, it's not like they put those poor children together just for the single purpose to die... Right? it can't be everyone- it must be a trick, maybe the capitol doesn't know real people die- maybe it's one person hurting her district- hurting anyone with a connection to the dead tributes. So simply put- she denies the bad in most anyone and trusts many inexplicably.

Growing up- Calista was well shielded from the 'real' world. Her mother saw too it that she saw and heard as little of the games as possible. Which meant having her turn her head at the bad parts and trying to keep her from focusing on the tributes, so she wouldn't know who died. Jade helped in this- always playing acute attention to the games- so as to be able to tell when Calista must look away.

When the games got bad and or she had to be distracted- her mother and sister put her to work. Work meant studying the plants and herbs from what they had acquired from years of working in the agricultural business. Occasionally in the winter they would put her in charge of tending the fire place (though, she took a lot of coaxing from her sister - who knew very well how to make a fire - and trail and error to slowly learn how to make a fire.

The shield disappeared when Calista was 8, Jade was 12 and their mother Rose and father, Marcelo were killed by tracker jackers that were left in the fields from the rebellion. The two sisters were taken in by there mothers sister, Lily and her husband, Benjamin.

Lily and Ben were not nearly as well off as Rose and Marcelo were. So, they couldn't really support two children in addition to there three (Florida, 7, Georgia, 5, and Louis, 2 ) plus one on the way. So Jade took teresse for the first time. Since then, the family has been struggling and as such, Calista (despite Jade's protests) intends to also take teresse the moment she can.

So, in light of the tragedy and loss, the family attempts to make thing cheery- mostly Calista who is just sweet and seems to glow with happiness. She and her sister are just waiting for the day that they can once again live in a stable family.
