Josh Fulman {Distirct 12}

Josh is a small boy. He is scrawny and short for his age. To be exact he is 5 ft. 4 in. and he is well enough fed but still looks a little bony. He isn't very muscular either, mostly because he doesn't get much protein. His eyes are green and bright, to an almost unnatural degree. Especially for someone from the Seam. His jet black hair is left long enough to cover his eyes. This he makes absolute sure of everyday.

He typically wears a t-shirt and a pair of slightly holey blue jeans. He is also wearing a pair of shoes. On his hands are a pair of worn and holey gloves. Other than his jeans his other clothes are typically black so that coal dust isn't too noticeable. His skin is also covered in a few black smudges from the coal dust that covers his pillow.

Josh is quiet and rarely talks to anyone. He has been known to disappear for a short period of time. It is because he goes into a slight depression in which he becomes very angry very fast. Josh prefers to be left alone throughout the day by everyone, even his parents. That way he doesn't make enemies through a misunderstanding. After all that would be very unfortunate seeing as he never tried to make any friends.

This depression is triggered by sadness or fear. So in a way it's caused by everyday life in Twelve. Anytime he sees someone who had died at all, he immediately runs off. If someone starts talking about death he leaves the room. It may be a social weakness but the way he vents is through physical labor. Venting in turn makes him stronger and faster. Therefore his weakness is a strength and vice-verse.

Other than this he has shown little to no emotion in public. That and the fact that he is always lost in calculating thought makes him seem odd to others. Another reason he doesn't have any friends. When he is lost in thought it's usually are about people he knows and the capital, or sometimes even about the hunger games.

Josh was born on July seventeenth. He was the son of a couple in the seam. They had raised him well, however, he still slipped into depression as he grew older. As soon as he turned twelve he opted to get the tesserae even when his parents begged him not too. They kept their eyes on him after realizing that he was falling into the clutches of depression.

In another two years he started skipping out on school and heading out to the forest. Even when it is illegal. He made sure he was never seen and he would climb into trees to relax when he wasn't exercising. But just to be sure he never got into too much trouble he made sure that he was always present for the Capital's history lessons.

By the time he was fourteen he was absent far less and was able to travel the distance from his house at the outer edge of District twelve to school in less than a minute by sprinting. This came in handy when he was late or when, on the days he was absent, he was cornered by a large and dangerous animal. He could also climb practically anything.
