Scarlett Greene [District 11]

Standing at just under five foot five she is slight, on the slender side. Her athletic mold to her body gives her more of a lanky look. You can tell she's malnourished, her bones sticking out and the fact she looks like she couldn't carry a bag of flour. Her long, golden, cornsilk colored locks hang in curls down to the middle of her back. Most of the times it hangs towards the front of her face, hiding her.

Her eyes are a bright sapphire blue, an oddity against both her parent's dark colored ones, but she doesn't mind. They give her a mysterious quality while being warm at the same time. Her pale complexion hardly ever burns and slightly tans and freckles in the sun. What she wears is not important to her. Scar has always been happy with just a comfortable shirt and a pair of pants. If she can climb in it then she's good with what she's wearing. Comfortable shoes are another plus but she also likes to go barefoot. While there are occasions that she will actually dress up, but it's few and far between.

There are many qualities that Scarlett possess, some more dominant then others. Shyness is the most dominant factor in the young girl. Most people seem to think she's a mute, hardly ever speaking to anyone. Actually she just doesn't like to talk to many people. She's always been a strong person who looks out for everyone around her, as long as she knows you earn it. She knows her place and knows what has to be done to protect family. Being the only girl after her mom's death she's been the only girl with three guys.

Scarlett is a caring person, loving to see the beauty in everything. There hasn't been a time that if she found an injured animal she liked to bring it home to take care of it. Of course, always under the radar, she knows not to let the peacekeepers find out. She's an emotional person, always acting with her emotions rather than her brain. That can cause some problems at times...that's for sure. There have been a few times that she's gotten in trouble but nothing too severe.

She's also been lately in a sort of funk, keeping to herself and not wanting to talk to many people. No one understands why and it's almost as if she's jumpy about something. Her brothers have noticed that she's not sleeping and can't understand why. Her anger is also out more in full force, easy to rise. Not that she does much, just throw things or push people. Don't let that tough exterior fool you though, she's also a sweet girl at times. If you're lucky enough to gain her trust she will be loyal to you unitl the end. Friendship is something she holds dear, and trust is something she holds in even higher regard.

From a young age Scarlett Greene has always known she was made for something more. Being the youngest child and only daughter to Frank and Iris Greene they would dote on her. Iris always wanted her daughter to have the best of everything, but also to be a completely well rounded person. While the family wasn't the most well off people they had enough to scrape by from time to time. By the time her two older brothers were old enough to work out in the fields they were all living a little easier with the income. There were many a days that young Scarlett would hand on her mother's dress tails and learn all about the agriculture around them in District 11. They were a big, happy family until the unthinkable happens. It was one of the days when Scarlett wasn't with her mother and there was an accident. Iris, the mother of three died in a horrible freak accident after falling from one of the high trees. No one understands how she could, she was one fo the best climbers around, but she did. Frank was a widow with three children to take care of and not a clue how to do it.

Scarlett was devastated to lose her mother, her one close confidant at the young age of 11. The whole family took it hard, but the only girl seemed to take it the worse. Now she was in a house full of boys, people that didn't understand girls like a mother would. The neighbors took pity on the family and would help the best way they could but it wasn't a lot. Scar's older brothers would sign up for the tesserae and then it was time for her to join in on the work. Being small for an 11 year old she was automatically shuttled to be a tree climber. Terror immediately would take over, afraid that she'd have the same fate as her mother. It took a lot for them to get her up there, but when she did you could tell she was her mother's daughter. For Scarlett, it was like she was born in a tree the way she moved. All too soon she got over her fear and became one of the best. On her down time she would just stay at home, hardly doing anything and keeping to herself. Her brothers would try to get her to hang out with kids her own age but that never happens. She'd stay at home and take care of the house while her father taught her how to distinguish certain plants. Most people in the District thought she was mute, but really she was just too shy to talk to anyone. This was their routine for years and by the time she was sixteen a lot of things had changed.

Now she's been old enough for a while to be in the reaping. Luckily she hasn't been called for it yet but her family isn't that lucky. Her older brother Bale, was chosen and he died within the first couple days. While Scarlett hates the idea of the games she knows she can not voice her opinions on it like she'd wish. With one less able handed person to help with the food, Scar has also signed up for tesseraes to try to help her family. Frank is getting old and arthritis is crippling his hands. That leaves just Scarlett and Matt as the only ones left to take care of them. Fun is over for Scarlett Greene, now life takes more precedence. But will her life always be like this? Time will tell.
