Appearance:
Lilac Lemet is a fairly pretty girl, a bit on the short side for her age. Her build is small and toned, with much hidden force. Underneath her unusually pale skin lies an unexpected army of muscles, hidden for attack. Her light skin stands out from her neighbor’s more olive skin tone, and, just like the rest of the Seam, she has dark circles under her eyes and is frowning with worry. Her figure forms a small hour glass, although she loathes her large thighs, most people like them because they are strong, but she is very self conscious about them sometimes, even though looks are not her top concern, and sometimes it shows, maybe uncombed hair, or dirty clothes, but it all depends on how much needs to get done. Her most prominent feature is her sharp jaw bone, an asset that draws away from both her annoying trill of a laugh and the long and thin scar running from her left lower cheek to her mid neck that a mishap in the forest caused her.Personality:
Lilac has long, wavy, dark brown hair that flows to her mid back. Her two sisters envy the curve and sheen although she finds it quite unattractive. On a normal school day, she will usually have her bangs down and the bulk of it hanging in a loose bun at the base of her neck, with small whips framing her face. During special occasions, such as Reapings, she will have her mother fashion it into an elegant French braid that hangs over her left shoulder. Her hair is her mother’s, but she has her father’s bright Seam eyes. Her eyes grey-green eyes shine bright and clear, in happiness or sorrow the will always have a glint of hope flashing among there vast depths.
Lilac is a unique girl, some find it endearing, and others envy her for it. She is kind enough, but does not give her love and trust freely. She is a girl of many friends, and getting them comes easy to her, as long as they gain her trust, nothing is to bother them. Lilac is quite soft spoken in public, but around her friends, she has an opinion on everything and does not hold it back. She is quite talkative, bring up a topic and she dives right in, poring her heart into the conversation, but careful of what she says and how she says it, she often over analyzes many things. When something is wrong, she takes it upon herself to fix it. If something is not how she wants it, she sees to it that it is. She is not one to let something happen and sit by to watch it pass. She hates the Hunger Games and their cruel lesson, and she will for ever hate the Capitol for the unjust end they put to her father.History:
Lilac has adjusted her ways to accommodate her life many times, and in it has learned many valuable lessons and traits. However, she is only a 15 year old girl and still has many a flaw. She is stubborn, so stubborn to the point at witch once she has made a statement, true or false, it is nearly impossible to admit she is wrong if she is, or to shut up if she is right. It may sound strange, but she has an issue where it is very hard for her to apologize, for in the back most corner over her mind, she has instilled that what ever she did was right or justified, so when you receive an apology from Lilac, you know it is sincere. And she is paranoid about almost everything, she needs to know for sure that things are planned, or taken care of, or amended, and when she is nervous, she has a horrible habit of biting her nails. That is both quite annoying, and leaves her finger nails worn to a stub. And she talks, talks talks talks until you have to shut her up on one day, and wants to go to the Meadow or the Forest to be completely alone the next.
Lilac may appear as a hopeless teenage girl with no father and stress, worry, and responsibility eating away at her soul, but really she is a strong young lady ready to face what ever her hard life in the Seam has to offer. No matter what the circumstances, she can make you laugh, whether it is at her own anecdotes, or just a simple humorous line. When ever things are down, or when all seems lost, she can always find a way to see the light, pick out the good, and see things for what they truly are. And this is because she is a fighter, she is a survivor. She has been dulled from most pain by her responsibilities, but it is there, sorrow from all the horrific times in her life cling by threads to her memories, no matter how much she tries to start anew, or cloud them out with foggy memories of warm nights by the meager fire singing with her father to her sisters, her mother joining in on occasions. But she is there, and she is living, and while she is living, there will always be happiness in the peoples lives around her.
In her early years, Lilac lived a happy life, full of laughter and song, good memories by the fire, and warm arms at night. Her mother lived happily and cared for 7 year old Pepper and 5 year old Holly. Her father had an easy life, working in the mines, and caring for his family. Lilac loved it then, when her father got home she would wrap around him tight, closely followed by her sisters, her mother’s face would instantly lighten at the soft sound of his mining boots as they plodded into the house. Each Sunday they would take a small meal and picnic in the Meadow, a short distance from their home in the Seam. Life was happy, and things where alright.Codeword: oDair
But on a gusty August day, things went amiss. Her father was falsely executed in the District Square after a rumor went around about talk in the mines of rebellion. Lilac was released from school just in time to see her father crumple on the cold ground from the bullet to his heart. From then on the laughter stopped, and the only song came from the lone song bird outside in their yard. Her mother went into depression and nothing mattered to her anymore, except for Pepper and Holly. She new that on that day she had lost not only a father, but also a mother. For several months her family scraped by clinging desperately to life as they were beaten with starvation, illness, and fatigue without even the meager salary her father used to bring. But Lilac was determined, she new there was some way to survive.
And she found away, the Forest. She new her father had hunted there and he took her occasionally, he had taught her how to kill with a knife, and she could handle it well. Only one problem, they scent Peacekeepers in her house before he was executed, and took his long dagger and two knifes. One dreary day while she worked up the courage to enter the Hob once more, upon entrance, while her eyes were fixed on the floor, she spotted something, a sharp glint hidden in the fog trailing into the building. So, being a naturally cuoirius child like herself, she bent to pick it up. Her small hand found its way to the handle and she dislodged it from the wedge between the floor and the wall. And then it was hers, a long, 6 inch knife, clean and sharp metallic in light, it was just what she needed to survive. That was it, her primary food source for the rest of her life, but she aimed to collect more, to barter and trade, to scrounge around in things people don’t want. She now has four and keeps extremely good care of them for they are her lifeline.
Things started to get better slowly after her discovery of the knife, but then one day she was talking to her mother and she blew, she was furious, she was angry, and her mother responded with something horrible. Her mother said that her father hadn’t loved her, or Pepper, or Holly, but wanted to run away with only her Mother. But although Lilac was hurt, she refused to listen to her mother, she pressed forward, leaving the words behind, and the love for her mother with it. Although some is still there, even if she doesn’t know it, she would lay down her life for her mother at any moment, and, in fact, she has been every day for the past 5 years at the forest.
Now she is 15 and things are better, her mother has recovered to help her sisters, and she has been hunting in the forest for nearly 5 years to feed her family. Each day after school she returns to her forest, a place of refuge, food, and hope. Starvation no longer pesters her family, but that could easily change at any time. Lilac is determined not to let her sister Pepper, whom just turned 12, to sign up for a single tessera. She will not let anything harm her sisters, in any form, and this she is sure of. Each day she struggles to help fill the gaping whole that was lost when her father was, to provide food, strength, and hope to her family. And she has decided, that she will never give up.
