Age: 36
Gender: Female
District/Area: District 11
Appearance:
Rowan is 5'1" tall and weighs around 100 lbs. Rowan is gorgeous with her shoulder length wavy blond hair the color of straw. Her dark blue eyes have been compared ripe plums, in fact her eyes are so deeply blue, that she has often been told her eyes are purple. Rowan's skin is the color of the inside of an almond, and her lips have the slightest hint of pink like the inside of a strawberry. It would be a strange day if she didn't have to pick at least three leaves out of her hair.Personality:
Though Rowan is thin she is not starving, in fact she is pretty well off, being a apothecary's wife. She can be seen around town in a violet skirt and a black shirt with an apron, and sandals or black boots. Since her marriage the traces of hard labor on her hands, and hunger in her cheeks has vanished, but the jolliness in her face remains. Rowan always looks happy even when she's crying her eyes out. Rowan and her husband Galen look quite the odd couple with him standing 6'5", being very muscular, with close cropped black hair, and dark brown eyes.
Rowan's main trait is that she is absolutely jolly, at all times. Rowan is a complete optimist, and always seems to see the best in all bad news. Rowan is the kind of person who exudes happiness and can brighten a room to blinding. Rowan is extremely trusting of people, which at times can be her downfall. Rowan is extremely loyal to her friends and above all else her husband.History:
Rowan is hyperactive, she can't sit still, she can't be bored, and she can't not talk. Rowan is also a horrible busybody, having to know everything, do everything, and help everyone with their work. Rowan likes to gossip, but because she always gives people the benefits of the doubt she never filter what she gossips and to who, often telling the wrong people about surprises, and things others are hiding. Because of Rowan's hyperactivity her house, and the shop are immaculately clean but are arranged in the strangest ways.
Rowan's best friend is a Peacekeeper named Geena. Rowan will not tolerate those who look down on her for befriending a peacekeeper, or those who talk bad about Geena or her comrades. Rowan is an honest person, but she's not a snitch.
Rowan is a very non-violent person, despite almost volunteering for the Hunger Games when she was 17. Rowan's husband Galen, is an apothecary, and though his prices are steep he is very flexible. Rowan's son and daughter describe her as an odd mom, because of her hyperactivity and the quirks it brings, and the lack of a feminine role model when growing up.
Rowan was born three months after her parents Holly, and Colin were married, her mother was 18 at the time and her father 20. That year her mother was chosen for the 23 Hunger Games, and no one volunteered to take her place. So on day two of the games a two month old infant was forced to watch her mother die. Rowan was raised by her father, a socially awkward fruit picker, who knew little about raising a child. Rowan was raised in poverty, but in school she excelled in her cooking class, and he jolly personality won her many friends. When Rowan was 9 she began work picking apples from the topmost branches of the trees.Codeword: odair
When Rowan was 13 she hit puberty, and all of a sudden the plain tree climbing girl was a beauty, from then she never had a shortage of friends or suitors. Though Rowan had many friends her best friend was a girl named Rose who had lost her leg when a tree that had been struck by lightning fell on her. When Rowan was 17 Rose was selected for the Hunger Games and if it hadn't been for her father Rowan would have volunteered to replace Rose. That was the second relationship that the Hunger Games had stolen from her. The next year Rowan graduated from school, and became an apprentice pie maker.
Life was easier for Rowan, now that she had a career, a warm bed in the pie shop, and three meals a day provided for her as part of her apprenticeship. when Rowan was 20 she inherited the pie shop from her master, and began a courtship with a young apothecary's apprentice, named Galen, the two had bonded over their losses in the Hunger Games, Galen lost his brother in one of the games. That spring they were married, and two years later their daughter Ivy was born, and 10 months after that their son Charlie was born.
Rowan, and Geena became friends, when Geena returned a recently run away Ivy, age 5, to her very distraught mother. The two bonded over cups of tea and pie.
Today Rowan spends her time making pies, visiting Geena, trying to raise two kids, dreading the day one of her children is reaped, though luckily they have no need to sign up for tessera, and she spends the rest of her time helping in the orchards.
