● APPEARANCE ●
If you could see somebody's personality through their appearance, Clayton's would be shining bright. He looks caring, as if he's never actually mad. But we'll get into detail about his personality later. His face is smooth, the edges rounded and not roughly rigid. His face is long and thin, allowing plenty of room for his nose, mouth and eyes to be spaced. His eyes are almond shaped and colored a deep brown, warm and calming. They also appear to be squinted, the space between the top and the bottom not being very large. His eyebrows are thin, curved over his eye in a look of constant surprise. His hair is something he puts a lot of pride in, having the ability to actually perfect it with the District 1 products. It is colored a dark brown with lighter accenting, gelled up into a fauxhawk. His nose is long and thin, slightly crooked to the right from a past experience in his grade school.
His neck is thin, lined with a bit of muscle, which is actually rare for this 6'7'' Career. His shoulders are broad, pushed forward slightly because of a bad posture. His chest and stomach are flat, abs apparent because of his thin build. His arms are long, as are his fingers, adding a lanky look to his figure. Freckles dot the top of his arm, accompanied by hair too. His palms are smooth however always clammy because of hyperhydrosis, a small defect that means some of your sweat glands produce too much. This can only be found in his hands though. His legs are also long, the main part of his large height. His feet are large as well, about a size 11. His arc between his heel and the ball of his feet is very high, often needing extra support to keep the pain away.
His choice in shoes is pretty basic, generally consisting of running shoes are skater shoes. His pants are either boot-cut or straight jeans, colored blue or grey. Clayton's shirts are varying, either button up plaid, sweaters, normal t-shirts or sweater vests. His accessories consist of hats, belts and different types of jewelry. He owns a pair of glasses that are usually in their case in his pocket, rarely actually being used. They are colored black and are more thin than thick.
Attached to his left leg is a mechanical leg. The event will be touched on more later, but it only ended him a needed amputation and an expensive prosthetic leg that is now a part of him. Because it is newer, he has not grown accustomed to walking with it, sometimes stumbling or limping with it.
● PERSONALITY ●
As I said earlier, Clayton is really caring. He is one of those people who thinks only about others, sometimes forgetting that he matters too. This has lead him to multiple problems with his health because he's been worked up about others. He is also very calm and collected, taking things slow and making sure he's sure of things before actually acting. He is rarely found in fist fights, preferring to sort things out through words instead. This is an example of his love of words, something he puts into use through writing and music. His dream job would be to be a journalist, something that shines through his personality nowadays with his somewhat nosy questions.
However, he can have an angry side. Albeit, it is rare, he can be set off like a bomb, causing a huge reaction that could cause smaller ones amongst others. It takes a lot to get him angry because of his care-free personality though, so it is a side of him that is barely seen. Clayton is affected by slight anxiety though, a result from his accident where he lost his leg. He tends to be jittery, unsure of things around him unless it's really obvious there is no harm. It has made him easily distracted, another thing he is trying to control.
Clayton also owns a charismatic and charming side too. Most in his District express themselves through their rippling muscles and athletic abilities while Clayton prefers to target emotions using his skill with words. He has a very leading personality, allowing him to take hold of situations well and to control the chaotic possibilities. He is the type of person who knows what makes most girls happy, preferring to make things about them and not about rippling muscles or things of the type. However, that doesn't mean he is always lucky with the romantic scenarios. He can be shy, afraid that he won't be liked and he will only be rejected. It's somewhat a fear of his to be rejected, so he tends to avoid cases that could mean a possible romance.
Intelligence is important to Clayton, something he actually likes to boast about, despite his District being known for their brutal actions and prowess in the Games and in anything physical. He listens in school, always doing well on the textbook side of things and being a favourite student to some of the teachers because of his willingness to participate. He seems out of place though, amongst all the hulking masses of potential killers, however not because of his size, which is actually the norm for District 1.
● HISTORY ●
Born to the happy couple Mr. Geridan Synclair and Mrs. Lily Deeks, Clayton was the typical baby. He slept, threw up, ate and cried but he was a joy to the two who always wanted a child. When he turned seven, things went wrong though. His father had lost his job, sending him into some sort of depression that meant an obsession with alcohol. And with alcohol in his system, he became quite abusive, physically and mentally torturing Clayton to the point of him breaking down at the age of nine. His mother was always too oblivious to realize what was going on until it was pointed out by a friend.
When Clayton turned 10, his parents divorced, his mother not wanting to live with such a vile beast. Little did she know, because of how much money she made in her line of work, she would have to pay her ex-husband so he could support Clayton on the days when he was at his father's house. It meant a week of safety for Clayton, only for him to be tossed back into hell for another week. The abuse stayed physical, beatings becoming a regular occurance in his daily schedule. The mental part was there through name calling, insults and the times when his father wouldn't even let him sleep. The things got worse, sometimes his weeks being spent in a small room with nothing except a tiny bit of food.
The torture continued until he turned twelve. Two years he had to live through horrible things his father did, his mother becoming more and more oblivious once again to the weight loss or the injuries or anything that was now making Clayton's life worse. It was another week at his father's house that had cause so much pain at the age of 17. Another sick game had kept him up all night. Through exhaustion, he made his way downstairs to feed himself, only to end up in the same room as his father once more. After cursing and yelling that shook the whole house, a weapon was taken out by Geridan. And one wrong move by Clayton got him a knife hacking down across his left leg. But his scream had brought the neighbors running over and helping him over to the large hospital, keeping his father back.
He had been rushed to the hospital and given painkillers to help him out. However, he was in a coma, knocked out by the pain for a few weeks. When he awoke, he was greeted by his mother who shared with him the news that his father had died from a heart attack. He was happy, yet he knew that his father who loved him once was still the one who died. And then he noticed his leg. It was now replaced with a metal contraption. Since then, he has been trying to get used to the feeling of it, not succeeding as he had hoped he would.
