OK, so I know about the thread to reserve a Face Claim for a character of mine, but how does one go about finding one in the first place, especially when you've got specific criteria to fill?

I've tried child actors on Wiki, there are some results, but no where near enough. Are there any sites you could recommend or any systems that you've personally developed to sniff one out?

The reason I'm asking is I hoping that I'll have the chance to get one of my characters Reaped in the future (probably not the next Games, but definitely one day!), and pretty much all of them have a face claim. What happens with a character that has no FC when the support ads appear, like now, or if they win and their picture is used? (I can dream...)

I'm hoping that I'm not going to have to refer to watching all films in my possession and making a note of any actors.

But if that's the only way...

Oh, and if someone is thinking using myself or a friend as a model, forget it - I own no wigs and my clothes are dreadful. (Also, I think I read famous people only somewhere.)

Anyway, I need some help finding a Face Claim, and I don't really have an idea where to start.

Okay, I got permission from Cameron to answer your question, so here we go. First of all, finding a face claim can be both very easy and very difficult. Even the most difficult of characters to find a face claim for can be found with the use of search engines such as Google and (my personal go-to) Hollow-art which is actually designed to find face claims for RPers.

I don't suggest using Wikipedia to find face claims. Oh, I'm curious, how do you use Wikipedia to look for them? Wikipedia is a sea of millions of articles and it never describes the appearance of a real person.

If you're going to use Google to search for say a blonde teenage girl with blue eyes you should just search for that. Short but descriptive sentences such as that are a must. But on Hollow-art, it's much different. That search engine searches for short worded tags. So, if I was going to search for that same character on hollow-art I would enter something like this: Teenager, female, blonde, blue eyes.

As for tribute face claims, you aren't required in any sense of the word to have a face claim. And if your tribute doesn't have a face claim and they make it to the final five and the banners are used again, that's perfectly fine. It'll just be a banner with the name and a blank picture. In the 56th, a boy whose name I'm blanking on didn't have a face claim and made it to the final five with support banners.

Now, it's never been banned that we have to use famous people. If they aren't famous or remotely well known, it's up to you whether or not you even claim them.

And I searched 'child actors' (Wiki is quite useful for lists) and opened tabs on the girl names. If they didn't have a picture then I just closed it. Thanks again.

Hi, as a librarian, I can answer the part about "famous people" and such.

So the deal with the famous people only is to discourage people from claiming others that they know personally. So your cousin might look the part but we don't want you releasing his or her name by posting it in the face claim. Also, the chance that someone else will claim your cousin is slim (unless your cousin is...Angelina Jolie or something like that). They don't have to be incredibly famous (in fact, I personally encourage finding small name artists/actors/models to decrease the chance that your face claim isn't already taken) to be claimed, but we just ask that you don't claim your sister/brother/auntie/uncle/grandma/grandpa/cat/doggie (the last two are just jokes...for the most part >.>).

Also, I like to use IMDB. A lot of times, you can find people through films that you love or if nothing works, you could try the Birthday list. There's always a bunch of people of different ages for you to pick. =)
