Ria sighed as the detention teacher yelled, "ALRIGHT, QUIET DOWN ALL OF YOU!" Although only five people out of the twelve in detention were whispering amongst themselves. Kinetis and Ria were two of the twelve.

Ria sighed as the teacher yelled at them. The teacher proceeded to shout. "Now I will assign people cleaning places." Ria got assigned to clean up the cafeteria, thankfully with Kinetis. Two other kids by the names of Jacob and Kendra were assigned the cafeteria as well. The teacher told the cafeteria kids to get washcloths out of the water bucket and to clean the tables and then get mops and to clean the floors.

Ria sighed as she walked over to the soap and water bucket to get her washcloth. Detention was so utterly boring. Just a lot of cleaning and if you finished cleaning early you just worked on homework in the science room along with the people who actually chose to stay after school and work on sciency stuff.

And Ria sighed as she got a wet wash cloth and rung it out over the bucket. she walked to one of the tables and started to clean it. She wiped it back and fourth, putting the crumbs she brushed off into her hands and trying to scrub gross dried on food off the table. There was TONS of gum under the table and she made a grossed out face at it. She would get the gum off later. Right then she was focusing on cleaning the tops of the tables.

Keenan was watching the detention kids quietly. He was peeking in through the door frame and watching them. Kinetis was there with Ria. He watched Ria, fully entranced by her beauty and Kinetis looked at him. He jumped away from the door frame, hoping Kinetis hadn't seen him. REALLY hoping. Because that night Keenan was putting his plan into action.

Every 20 minutes the detention kids got ten minute brakes where they could go to the bathroom, get drinks, and talk amongst themselves. While Kinetis, Ria, and the other cafeteria kids were in their break, Keenan would totally TRASH the cafeteria. The best part was that the detention was only an hour long and ten minute break happened fourty minutes into that hour. So therefore, the cafeteria kids would have ten minutes to clean the cafeteria after Keenan trashed it.

And if they didn't clean it by then, well, they'd be earning themselves another 2 days of detention AND would be in charge of some activity. when it happened to Keenan he had to plan and publish one edition of a school newspaper. It was HELL. It ate up all his time and NO ONE wanted to join. He got really bad grades that quarter. He grinned evilly and hid in the boys bathroom, waiting.

Kinetis smiled as he watched Ria scrub the tables. He was scraping the bottoms off from gum and every so often, he would glance up at Ria and smile. Sometimes he would just admire her intent face until she would pause and look over at him, then laugh and look back to her work. On one of these occasions, he was looking back to his work when he caught a quick glance of.... Keenan?

He went to look back, his heart beating nearly out of his chest, and found him to be gone. No where to be seen. He shook his head and went back to work. Geeze! Am I developing schizophrenia? It was just one fight. Just one.

But the nagging feeling remained. Something was not quite right. With that doubt of the happiness of the reality, he could not enjoy Ria's presense quite as much- which made him mad and quite POed. He looked over at Ria one last time, then over to the door, then kept to his work, gentley tugging away at the dried gum with a scraper.

The feeling was growing stronger. Stronger than a suspicion. Stronger than a hunch. A nagging instinct....

And it was really getting on his nerves.

Dyl yawns behind me. I blink and turn around to face him, already scribbling down on my notepad.

Tired already, Dyl? I show him the note and he rolls his eyes.

"Not tired Desi, just bored." He says firmly. I snicker silently and punch him in the arm. He raises his eyebrows. "Ouch, I think?" He says in a voice that clearly tells me he's trying not to laugh.

Wasn't trying to hurt you, silly goose. I show him this note and smile affectionately. He grins.

"Oh. So I'm silly?" He mutters, but he's still smiling. Hardly anyone smiles at me, one of the reasons I'm so damn attached to my brother. He doesn't scoot around my condition, or treat me like I'm helpless because of it. He just shrugs, explains it, and moves on.

Yep. Do you disagree? He snorts as he reads this one, and shakes his head mournfully.

"So. Bored." He says, resting his head on the back of my chair. His firey hair tickles my arm, and I brush it off before twirling my pen and placing it on the paper.

Well... I have enough work done on our project... Let's go outside! I write the words down at lightning speed, and practically bounce in my chair as I flip the notepad around so he can read it. He grins.

"Great idea Desi!" He says immediately.

We wheel out, and are almost outside when we hear a noise in the boys bathroom. Dyl frowns and walks in, and then returns holding some guy by the front of his shirt. He motions me forward, and I wheel myself after him, into the cafeteria. He gets in there, still holding the squirming guy, and booms out, in his big, frightening voice, "Did any of you lose an annoying little troublemaker?"

I giggle silently in the background as I watch Dyl suppress a smile.

Keenan was just sitting in the bathroom against the wall, waiting for the break to finally come when a big boy walked in. Keenan jumped up and pushed up against the wall as much as he could. Keenan wasn't strong or tall, he was known for his insidious mind (RAISTLIN!!!) and he had just gotten beaten up earlier that day.

The boy walked over to him and reached his hand out. Keenan reflexively winced, thinking the boy was gonna hit him but when he didn't feel any thing crunch or any pain then he opened his eyes and saw the boy had grabbed the collar of his shirt. Keenan raised an eyebrow at him and said, "W-what are you-" He was cut of as the boy LIFTED HIM UP by his shirt. Keenan yelled, "Hey! Put me down! I have stuff to do today!"

He squirmed and kicked. "Come on dude! Put me down!" But even when he squirmed and kicked the dude didn't let him go. The boy was carrying Keenan now. "WHAT are you doing?!" Keenan said, perplexed. He didn't even KNOW this boy! Why the hell was he doing this to Keenan? He had him out in the hall now. He was carrying him towards the cafeteria.

On the way he saw a girl in a wheelchair. "Oh. Hello there." He said to the girl. He waved slightly and smiled and then went back to trying to get free of this random bastard. That girl was...kinda cute. Even though she was REALLY small and super skinny and also in a wheelchair, she had a cute face and she was really pretty. Also, something about someone being that small and fragile called to Keenan. It wasn't pity that he felt for her, it something else. Interest? Maybe, but more than that. It was strength. When someone could be that powerless, that frail, that small, and still withstand peoples teasing and worried looks with a smile on their face; that was strength. Keenan realized suddenly that be boy was carrying him towards the cafeteria.

"No!" He yelled. "No, no, no, no, no!" He scrambled even more, trying DESPERATELY to get free. "Let me go! What is WRONG with you???!!!" He shouted. And then the boy walked into the cafeteria. He held Keenan up high and shouted loudly, "Did any of you lose an annoying little troublemaker?" Everyone looked, including Ria and Kinetis. "Damn..." Keenan muttered. Now you know how the other people you prank feel. He thought.

Shut up brain! He thought to himself again.

No, this can help you prank better! Now you know better what makes people feel more hurt, embarrassed, etc. Keenan considered this. Perhaps this was a better thing. But it really didn't feel better right then. Keenan was blushing a tomato red and was really embarrassed, but Keenan refused to hide his face from the crowd. Keenan refused to acknowledge that Kinetis had won that round because Keenan was very stubborn. He would NOT let Kinetis win by hiding his face in embarrassment and letting Kinetis be satisfied. He would not show that he was defeated because that was just the kind of person Keenan was. So he tried to just hang there quietly and gaze out at the crowd silently.

Ria had been washing tables when she got the feeling someone was around. She heard faint yelling from in the hall and then, all of a sudden, this huge boy walked into the cafeteria holding...She couldn't quite tell who it was until she saw the boys face. Keenan! She burst out laughing.

Oh my GOD! She thought through her laughter. That's Keenan! OMFG! This was TOOOO funny. Keenan, the devious mastermind, was being held by his shirt up in the air by a boy who was younger than him. Ria was still laughing hysterically. And she looked at Kinetis, eyebrows raised but still laughing as if saying, "This is hilarious! Are you seeing this as well or am I crazy?!"

At first Keenan was squirming and trying to get free but now he just hung there, looking as if he had slightly given up. His cheeks were a DEEP red and he was totally humiliated. Ria was LOVING this as Keenan had tortured her throughout her school life from the age of 7. This was just hilarious. The king of embarrassment getting embarrassed himself by a boy, again, YOUNGER than he was. Ria kept laughing and watched as Keenan turned an even deeper shade of red. Everyone in teh cafeteria was laughing now and she could tell that Keenan was just getting more and more embarrassed. She was loving it.

Kinetis grinned with approval. The "trouble maker" was indeed annoying. His peevish face. Those cunning eyes and his Hermes' smirk. Yup. Trouble maker. Possibly thief. But Kinetis was sure that whatever he truly was, he was at least one hundred percent spite Trying to prank already? Well, you've failed. Now... Oh boy- it's my turn.

His grin turned to a smirk as he neared Keenan- thoughts of how to put this petty rivalry to an end- then took his shirt collar from this new guy- who was incredibly fit looking. He instantly wished he could have his muscles back and his fighting skills. But now was not the time for practice. Now was the time for public humiliation. Keenan would have done the exact same thing if he was in Kinetis' place. Well... Except for the holding by the shirt collar thing. Kinetis wasn't even sure if Keenan could pick up Ria... With the way he fought it was plausible.

"Ria? Could you, by any chance, go into the P.E. supply closet and retrieve the rope? I think it's time Keenan over here got a taste of his own medicine."

A devious plan was forming in his head. A dangerous one- one that would get him caught for sure. But it would be hilarious to see Keenan dangle from the high ceilings of the Assembly room while he sat safely on the ground. And guess what! Tomorrow was Assembly. The plan was nearly foolproof. The teachers were lazy when it came to getting to work on time. So they would be there when everyone else was there as well. The students would be in first though and everyone would laugh at 'poor little' Keenan- the boy who messed with Kinetis and learned his lesson the hard was.

He grinned, hoping that this would finally put the persistent little gig in his place. Kinetis was the top dog- the alpha- the hero. And the hero always. Always always gets the girl. The villain? The villain crawled off somewhere and hid his face- seeking and hoping for a chance at revenge while the hero lived a happy carefree life with the girl he had won over. Was it fair? Absolutely. To Kinetis, it was without a doubt the absolute manifestation of truth.

He turned to Ria and saw in her beautiful red eyes that she knew exactly what he was going to do. He just hoped that she would help him. That she wouldn't turn her back on him when he needed it the most. Like his friend Ripper. But now Ripper is dead. If he had just helped me he would still be here. If he had-

He cut himself off before he could cry. It was a terrible fight. He had nearly died himself, but some peacekeepers had come and hauled the boy he was fighting off of him. The hospital... Kinetis could recall nothing. Nothing except a faint electronic beep and the disapproval of his father. That, and having a pain in his neck. His temporary paralysis. His fear of never being able to move again. No, not a fear. A terror. He would wake up in the middle of the night sometimes and be unable to move, sending him into a complete and total panic. His nightmares were a cruel torture he would wish upon none.

He looked back to Ria, then to Keenan, still holding him tightly by the shirt collar.

"There is nothing I do better than revenge."[/center][/color]

I flinch as a tough looking guy takes the other guy from Dyl's grasp. I can tell this guy is actually tough, unlike Dyl, who's just a big teddy bear.

I wheel in just in time to catch him saying "Time Keenan over here got a taste of his own medicine." I frown and tap him on the elbow. He glances at me. I hold up one finger and then start writing.

No. Don't take revenge when he didn't actually do anything. It isn't revenge if all he did was think, moron. I show him the note and narrow my eyes.

Dyl nods. "And of course, if you don't want to listen to Desi... I'm not quite as good with words as I am at fighting." He says with a frown. I raise my eyebrows at the tough-guy. Dyl doesn't like to fight unless provoked. But, he's 6'6" and 250 pounds of muscle.

I tilt my head to the side and give my best innocent smile.

Ria was grinning and starting to run and get some rope when a girl in a wheelchair wheeled in. She looked frail and weak but still really pretty. She showed them a note saying that they shouldn't take revenge just because he thought. Yeah, right. Ria thought sarcastically.

She smiled at the girl and said, "No offense or anything, but you don't really know him as well as we do. That boy has out me through some hell and he deserves to pay. You really don't know what he's one to me. Please, just let us do this one unkind thing to him. He's done many to me." She said. (By the way, this is true, she's not lying. Keenan is really mean to her and Kinetis.) She was prepared to beg. She REALLY wanted to humiliate Keenan like he had done t her so man times.

She looked at the boy and stood in front of Kinetis, her arms crossed. She stared at him and said, "You will not lay one finger on Kinetis." She said it fearlessly because she wasn't afraid of this boy. If he wanted to harm Kinetis he would have to go through her first. And she knew he wouldn't hurt her. He didn't seem mean like Keenan who would do anything to take revenge, the little brat. She stared up at him, not moving from in front of Kinetis. It might embarass him a little to have her trying to protect him as he was portrayed as a really tough guy but she didn't care. That boy would not harm Kinetis.

She looked at both of them and said, "Look, this guy is really mean. He deserves to have a taste of his own medicine. I know you want to help him, and you can, but please, first let us humiliate him, just to show him how it feels. It's for his good." She thought that if Keenan felt what it was like he might stop. And that would be helping everyone.

Keenan was really in peril. One group wanted to spare him but the other group wanted to humiliate him. He just wanted to get out of there. "Um, ok, I know everyone's tense here, but if Kinetis here just lets me go I can...um...leave you all to, uh, discuss..." He looked up hopefully at Kinetis.

Ria stepped in front of Kinetis and started to protect him from the other boy and Keenan snickered. "Wow, you're girlfriend feels she has to protect you. That's just shameful." He said while looking down at Ria and then up at Kinetis. Ria growled at him, "Shut your trap, crapface." Keenan laughed and said, "No way, idiot." They glared daggers at each other.

Kinetis bared his teeth in a snarl- but then he stopped. Keenan was in pain. Emotional pain. He was hurt. And Kinetis knew deep down inside of himself that the best way to change Keenan was to change himself first. He was being the bully here. He was being cruel to a boy who just wanted acceptance by the girl he was in love with. He knew it was how he would have felt.

He set Keenan gently down on the floor and turned his around to loom over him- menacing, but no longer cruel.

"I'm going to let you go this time. But please don't try anything else. It's for your own good. Now go on home. We've.... we've got work to do."

He turned his back to him, picked his scraper back up and started scraping the gum off the tables again. He sighed and thought to himself Keenan reminds me alot of how I was when I was younger. Defiant. Full of a desire for revenge on everyone who ever harmed him. And now I'm sounding like an old dude...

He looked over to Ria and smiled at her, telling her that it was okay and silently thanking her for standing up for him. He wasn't THAT egotistical or sexist. Unlike Ripper... Poor Ripper. He was so young. He hadn't even been through his first reaping and he was killed. Kinetis cringed as his thoughts turned back to Ripper's death...

It had been a simple street fight against two kids just a little bit older than themselves. They had stolen property on them and Kinetis and Ripper wanted it for themselves. Just to say that they had the money. Then, things started to get bloody.

Ripper tackled the boy to the ground, then stood up to pounce, thus breaking his sternum and immobilizing him. Kinetis had never approved of that move. He said it was inhumane and risky. But, then again, Ripper lived up to his name and was indeed inhuman and risky as well.

He jumped in for the "kill", but the kid was waiting. With his powerful legs, he kicked Ripped away- right in the chest- and knocked him against a wall. Dead. Reader than dead. Kinetis cried his name as his skull was crushed against the pavement. An inhumane death for an inhumane person.

Kinetis could still here the crunch of the skull of gravel and tears used to come to his eyes on account of Ripper's death, but then... Well, he got used to it. He moved on. But sometimes, he felt like he had abandoned his friend after he had died. He hadn't attended the funeral, but he still morned for his life. It just... It was just another death to him now. A desensitization.

He quickly wiped the tears from him eyes and cleared his throat, praying to God that no one had noticed him. [/center][/color]
