District/Area: The Capitol
Appearance:
Seleucus has fine hair that has the appearance that it was glowing in the sunlight although it is a very light platinum blonde. This is one of the genetic defects that are passed down through generations in his family. The second is the fact that he is allergic to the sunlight, which causes him to either be inside almost all the time or covered up by a lot of sun reflecting-cloth. But beside the unhealthy looking genetic faults, Seleucus has a nicely framed face with high cheek bones and a slender jaw line. His eyes are an odd shade of green that range from pale in indoor lighting to vibrant in the sun- but they are mostly a pale green. His figure gives an apparent healthy weight to the normal human eye, but any doctor can look at him and see that he suffers from various nutrients that are essential for certain muscle growth. Even if someone says he looks fine and healthy, Seleucus is actually underweight. Because of his height, 6’2’’, Seleucus usually has to maintain a weight of 155 or higher, but he is usually below that because of malnutrition. Besides his appearance, the internal organs in his body work normally so Seleucus has no problem functioning on a daily basis.Personality:
Just to decorate his skin to make it less pale, Seleucus has a web of tattoos that start from his left him and trail up his back, looping around his neck and then trailing off behind his right ear. The tattoos vary in designs that have bats, spider webs, butterflies, animal spots or even intricate human eyes. All things that Seleucus deems to be very beautiful to him are tattooed to his body. He also has a tattoo of the moon on the inside of his left wrist and a tattoo of the sun on the inside of his other wrist. On occasions, Seleucus wears brown eyeliner and eye shadow to give his face some depth. And a lot of instances, Seleucus wear combat boots that make him several inches taller than he normally is and wears a lot of clothes that cover most of his skin. When he does go outside, Seleucus wears gloves and a hat to shade his body from the sun.
Besides his health handicap, Seleucus usually makes the best of his life. He is, by no means, a grumpy person. Although ironically he is allergic to the sun, Seleucus actually welcomes the morning with a smile instead of wanting to crawl back under the covers like most of his family does. He thinks that it is a waste of time to sleep the morning away when he could actually be productive so that he would have more time later in the day for something that he would want to do for his own enjoyment like reading or designing clothes. Seleucus doesn’t quite see how people can procrastinate or make up excuses to not do things and then complain later when they are rushing to finish it. Seleucus has an easy ability to see the positive path ahead of him and get an early start by heading down that path.History:
The only thing that severely changes his mood is the rain. Seleucus is affected by the weather more than he is affected by people or tragic situations usually because he doesn’t let those things slow him down in life. But when it rains, Seleucus’s patience tends to wear very thin, which is everyone’s indicator to steer clear of him on those days. He tries his best to keep his attitude on the positive side, but when everything is not bright and happy; Seleucus finds it very challenging to keep a smile on his face. And the only person that can cheer him up on those days is his pet cat, which he usually keeps at home while he is off at work. But when he gets home, Seleucus reminds himself that life is a challenge that everyone goes through- although it may be different for everyone- and he has to live and learn.
But other than the typical emotions, Seleucus often finds him very lonely even with the company of his beloved cat. He does not believe in all of the ‘love at first sight’ ordeals, but deep in the back of his mind he hopes that someone would come along and make him happier than he already is. Even through the mask of trying to be happy all the time, Seleucus is often found daydreaming while he is sketching out designs for some clients. Although he knows that he has a lot of people that love and care for him, he truly believes that there is no one really out there that could understand and care for him. So he usually dreams of finding someone, but he never remembers their face or never even knows if the person is a girl or boy. It’s something that Seleucus often has himself looking forward to.
Growing up in the Capitol wasn’t a tolling life for Seleucus and his family. But he did have to live with five older brothers and sisters as well as three younger siblings. All of which picked on him tremendously because of his weird nature. Even when he was younger, Seleucus found himself drawing designs on his own skin with ink or cutting out his own outfits out of fabric and wearing them to school. But no one had more affect on his self esteem than his siblings. By the time he was seventeen, Seleucus finally grew a backbone and moved out of the house after he was done with the necessary schooling. But he still has an attachment to his three older triplet sisters: Cleopatra, Doris and Euphemia. They were the most supportive of his talents while he was still living with his whole family. While his parents never truly gave Seleucus the light of day except for when his health was in peril, it was usually his sisters that let him design their clothes and draw intricate designs on their bodies for parties.Codeword: oDair
Cleopatra helped Seleucus attend a design school when he was out of Basic Schooling because she was dating the son of the chairman to the School. Doris attended the school the previous years before he did, so the money wasn’t an issue and Euphemia gave him the encouragement. By the time he graduated the school with honors and recognition, did his parents finally praise him. But now it was his turn to ignore them- which he did. He didn’t return their thanks or even visit the family on the Capitol holidays. Seleucus only paid attention to his beloved sisters because of what they did for him. Till this day, he only recalls that he had only three sisters, but never gave any recognition to the other five siblings. But he never did regret any choice that he made, for Seleucus considers himself to be happiest where he is now.
But one thing that was very troubling to Seleucus was the Annual Hunger Games. In his family, in the whole Capitol, it was a tradition to watch the Games. It was frowned upon to miss a second of it. So Seleucus forced himself through toil and gore until he couldn’t take it anymore. But even in the design school, the Games were still there. He couldn’t escape them- for after all, they were apart of the nation of Panem. But his goal isn’t to run from the Games now. Seleucus wants to use his talents in any way that he can so that the tribute of the Games will look the best that they have ever looked going into the games. Seleucus’s second wish is for the same tribute to come out of the Games so that he can dress them a second time.
