Marcus Brey {district 7} finished!!!

Marcus is an average height guy. He is pretty muscular from all the tree work he does at his job. Because he is at his job for such long hours, he usually has a tired look on his face. He gets so worn out that he has little time for anything else. Thus resulting in shaggy dirty blonde hair and a bit of untrimmed facial hair. All this gives him a short and stocky look.

But despite his semi-hard appearance, his eyes are soft and kind. They are a greyish warm brown color, a bit darker than his sister Layla’s. He has a nice smile and very white teeth. But below his right ear he has a fairly large red spot from where his dad hit him. It resulted in a popped blood vessel that just stayed red. Marcus has a few scars on his arms that have accumulated over the year from working with trees and construction and such.

As for clothing, he doesn’t really put much thought into it. Since he leaves for work so early, he just grabs whatever’s close in front of him, hoping it’s clean. But specifically his standard attire consists of some jeans (usually ripped), a solid t-shirt, and a plaid button down shirt over that, although he rarely buttons it. Marcus wears standard lace up work boots over that and always wears a necklace that was his fiancé's.

As a hard working guy, Marcus doesn't have that much time to just hang out. But at work, he tries to joke around with some of the guys. He has a determined yet easy going attitude. Sometimes he'll get angry over things, but that rarely happens.

Marcus loves family. It's his weak spot. If someone was doing something wrong and said, I'm just trying to help my family, he probably wouldn't have a problem with it. Because of his own family problems, he knows how hard it is when things turn sour. So one problem he has is money management. He doesn't tell anyone, but he will take about 1/3 of what he makes at work and gives it to homeless family's. He's well known in the rundown parts of district 7 for this. But he know's that he should be providing more of it for his family.

Lastly, Marcus sometimes has a temper. When people make jokes or laugh at Avox's is when it really comes out. His friends at work don't know why, but they know it is a force to be reckoned with. However, his siblings make him always feel better and he loves them to death. So all in all, hes usually an fun guy to be around under good circumstances.

Marcus grew up with a loving mother and father. He felt joy when he received an amazing sister as well. And when he found out he was going to have more siblings, he rejoiced. But then his mother died in child birth and his father started yelling at them. One day when Marcus was 13 his dad came home. He wasn't stable and started beating Marcus. Marcus did say a word. Ever. Not then not until after his dad left them two years later. He wanted nothing to do with the monster.

After that Marcus was left to take care of the family. At age 15, it wasn't easy, but they got by. His saving grace was his sister Layla. Her sweet nature was like a breath of fresh air in his hard life. And so thats how life went for a while. Him working and Layla working two jobs: being a mom to the twins, and working a day job as well.

Then Marcus fell in love. Her name was Eliza and she was wonderful. She loved his family and everything about him. And he loved her. He had known her all his life and in his senior year of high school, when he had seen her helping a poor widow with her children, he had fallen in love. And a few years after that, they were dating. So then Marcus asked her to marry him. Things were looking up.

Then one day changed everything. They were walking outside city limits and gathering food. It was illegal, but they never got caught and it helped both they're familys. She sang while she worked and he hummed along as well. "I'm going to go get that wheat over in the other field we saw earlier okay Marc?" she said. He kissed her and laughed saying, "Don't take too long." Soon, minutes turned to hours. He ran as fast as he could when he realized something was wrong. He searched for hours, but never found her. All he found was her necklace.

Marcus knew what had happened, but wouldnt except it. She had been taken, probably living life as an avox. He would never hear her sing again. He went home to Layla who practically pieced him back together over the next few years. So now life goes on. He dreams about Eliza every night. But he has learned not to forget her because she will always be a part of him, but to get over the past because the present is enough to deal with as it is.
