Kenz Evergreen//7

Kenz looks like she has been touched by a tree. Her brown eyes looked like 2 drops of sap dripped into her cornea. Her hair is the color of bark. She is naturally tanned from working in the sun so long, but she has natural fair skin. She aspires to be beautiful, but she's just a natural 7th district girl. She's also got slightly muscular arms and legs, but she's skinny, and only 5' 2'', heightwise.
Her typical outfit consists of a hand-me-down brown shirt, a pair of dirty black pants, and a run down pair of sneakers. They were handed down from her great-grandmother, and are barely holding together. She works extremely hard to get money for new clothes. She has a jade necklace from her sister, who died in the Hunger Games. She only wears that on special occasions.

Hardworking and stubborn, she is a tree that can run. She works hard and will cover for the sick and elderly if they cannot work. Typically, she goes to bed with aching bones, but she doesn't care. She is strong, and can handle it. It's the least she can do, she often says.
She has a soft spot if her sister comes up in a conversation. She was 12 when she got Reaped, and was killed on the 5th day. She aspires to be like her sister, who took no time for herself and cared for her family at all times. Her sister was also handy with an axe, and was the finest tree cutter there ever was. At least, that's what everyone said...before she died.
In her family, it's Kenz's mom, dad, Kenz, and her new baby brother Palmer. Kenz is either in the forest, cutting down trees, or taking care of Palmer. Her father is a great man, cutting down tree after tree. Kenz knows that he will protect her at all costs, and that's why she loves him.

When she was born, Kenz was a burden. Her father being ill, and her mother taking care of Kenz, Alaqua, her sister, had to take care of the lumber duties. But Alaqua took that duty to heart. She carried that burden until Kenz was 5, and then she gave Kenz her first axe. It was almost as big as her, but she miraculously lifted it. She cut her first tree the next day (with the help of her sister). As family tradition, it was an evergreen tree.
As she grew older, Kenz never abandoned her axe. She sharpened the blade every day in the morning, and kept it next to her bed in case of an emergency. She would make a game of going out with her sister to cut down trees, having friendly competition with Alaqua to see who could cut down the most trees. That is... until she was 9.
She was 9 when Alaqua was Reaped. She was 9 when Alaqua was killed. The capital gave the ashes back to her family. She was (ironically) killed in a tree that caught on fire from a government surprise. Kenz wouldn't stop crying, even in the field. After a while, she toughened up, and took on her sister's duties, and tried to fill her shoes. That was impossible, but she still tried, and has been working hard ever since. This year is her first Reaping, and her first real danger of being picked.

I'd rather she not be picked in the Reaping. I want her to see all the gory stuff on TV.
