[Dev - row]
Age:
Gender: Male
District/Area: Avox/Wanderer
Appearance:
Devroux, at first glance, is pretty much an ordinary fellow. He stands at 6'3", a pretty average height for his age. His build is slightly on the bulky side, though he is still lean -- just not as much as a non-bulky person. He has an olive skin tone, looking like he has a tan year round.
His scruffy light chestnut hair has natural red and flaxen blonde highlights, and the length of his hair comes down to just above his eyes, slightly covers his ears. His eyes are different shades of steel blue, blue green, and light sea foam green; surrounding the pupil is a dark auburn, though as it goes towards the middle of the iris, the auburn lightens until it reaches the shades of blue on the outer half of the iris. He's frequently been told that he has his mother's eyes, though he never really believed it.
Personality:
Before he became an Avox, Devroux had been a fairly outgoing fellow, enjoying life to the fullest. However, as soon as he had been deprived of the ability to speak, he became somewhat reluctant to do things. Not only that, but he became utterly silent, too. However, as time drew on, he began to express his feelings through dog vocals he picked up from the wild dogs that he began to fallow out in the wilderness: varieties of barks, growls, snarls, yelps, and howls. Even though it may seem weird to others, he sees the sounds as a way to communicate and pick up the slack of not being able to speak. Because he uses dog vocals so often, he has nearly perfected the sounds to mimic an actual dog.
Now that he has become more accustomed to his loss, Devroux has become more confident with himself; however, he's still not completely sure about himself. He doesn't like seclusion anymore, so he tries to make friends with anyone who crosses his path, though he finds it hard to do when the only way he can communicate is by either writing in the dirt or speaking like a dog. And if he succeeds in finding a friend, he'll show them unfaltering loyalty in appreciation for their friendship. He'd fallow them to the ends of the earth and back, obey their every order without question, and do pretty much anything they ask, simply because they had the heart to take an Avox like him in as a friend.
When it comes to girls, however, he's the same old quiet, reclusive Devroux he had been when he first became an Avox. He doesn't usually sound like a dog, though he occasionally will. He may try to make contact with her, though most likely he won't, seeing as he becomes terribly shy around them.
History:
Devroux had been a hard worker in the orchards since he was first able to help the others gather fruit and what-not. He loved his three older brothers dearly, and when the day came they decided to start an uprising in District 11, Devroux was the first to sign up. He had just turned 13 at the time, and he trusted that his brothers knew what they were doing; and they did. They held secret meetings after dark, organized their plan, and on their selected day they turned their plan into action.
At sunset, the large group of rebels surrounded the Justice Building, each armed with torches. As they began to set the building on fire, before anyone could react, Capitol hovercrafts appeared, each armed with guns of different sorts. The rebels took off running in different directions, though they were all headed for the underground hideout.
Having fallowed his brothers in a desperate sprint for the orchards, Devroux skidded to a stop. 'What're you doing?' His brothers had asked him, noticing the fleet of hovercrafts fallowing them. 'I'm going to distract them while you guys get to the hideout!' Devroux replied, and before anyone could stop him, he turned and began running towards the hovercrafts. Hearing his brothers calling his name only made him run faster, determined to delay the Peacekeepers, or whoever they were. Before Devroux could even reach the hovercrafts they had taken him hostage; tortured him, cut out his tongue, then left him for dead out in the wilderness beside District 11. When Devroux woke, he was startled to find out that he couldn't speak, but more so when he noticed he wasn't in the orchards anymore. Since then, he became a wanderer, unsure about the rest of his life.
