Personality:
Arcadia has a rather round face, and although she hates to admit it, looks somewhat like a boy. The over-all shape and structure of her face tends to remind people of a pre-adolencent boy. But she does still retain some feminine qualities; full lips and dreamy, teardrop shaped blue eyes. Not to mention her favorite trait about herself, the beauty-mark n her upper lip. But the fact that her hair is cut super short doesn't help her case at all; her platinum blonde hair is pixie-bobbed monthly by her Father, who is afraid that long hair promotes promiscuity in young girls. Her eyebrows are light brown and thin, and her nose is rounded at the end and turned up slightly. Her ears are not pierced (another thing her Father forbades)
Arcadia is about 5 feet 5 inches tall, though she hates taking her height, mostly because she hates being short. Maybe about 120 pounds, she's a small girl, and has almost nothing to speak of in the chest department. She's got small, flat, pidgeon-toed feet and small hands. She wants to grow her nails out, but has a nasty habit of biting them short, and they hardly ever grow very long.
Arcadia dresses fairly modestly. Her Father, as I've mentioned, as a thing about modesty, and doesn't let his daughter dress in shorts or skirts that are shorter than her knees. She sticks mostly to appropriate-length sundresses in light, girly colors, or medium-toned pants with pastel-colored shirts or blouses. She likes sandals, but can't wear them, so she mostly runs around in tennis shoes or flats. She doesn't have her ears pierced, but she does have a treasury of bracelets and necklaces, and a vast array of brightly colored barrettes she likes putting in her boy-cut short hair.
What's there to say about Arcadia, besides she's your everage teenage girl? Growing up in a life of relative priviledge, Arcadia and her family have never once wanted for anything, let alone come close to starving. Arcadia has never given any thought as to the dysmal state the other 11 districts live in, and is rather carefree. She's been raised to be modest and demure, and while she hates living under such strict rules and exprectations for her behavior, in truth, if her Father didn't keep such close tabs on her, she probably wouldn't act any different. A quiet, sweet girl, Arcadia would never dream of even thinking something mean about anyone. Though she's a generally good person, she's not very charitable, and actually somewhat selfish.History:
A major history buff, Arcadia loves reading about Panem's past, though her reading material is somewhat limited. District 1, being in such close proximity to the Capitol, has a somewhat better selection of books than the other districts, but she still has trouble filling in historical gaps. More than anything, Arcadia likes reading about past Hunger Games. These, too, are hard to find, but what little she can get her hands on, she covets. She's fascinated by the Games, by the Reaping, and most of all, by the Capitol. She'd never want to compete herself, but every other aspect of the competition is utterly interesting to her. Every year, she watches the Games on Television with such focus, that she'll forget to eat.
Arcadia is decently smart, though she keeps it well hidden. Her Father says it's unbecoming of a young lady to be too well-read, and while he doesn't limit the amount of reading material Arcadia collects, he does tend to restrict what she says in public to generally known knowledge. She's very studious and organized, and gets good grades in school. She's excellent at memorizing facts, and has an extensive memry for obscure information. She's obediant and likes rules, though she's known to bend a few from time to time.
Born to Julius and Ferlia Gallowsmith, Arcadia Rosemary Gallowsmith was supposed to be a boy. Mr. and Mrs. Gallowsmith had been hoping for a nice strong baby boy to compete in the Hunger Games and bring their family honor and wealth, and instead, they had tiny, cholicy Arcadia, a child that was the exact opposite of their perfect offspring. But, you get what you get and you don't throw a fit, so the Gallowsmith's raised her as best they could. By age ten, young Arcadia had already taken basic self-defence training, and could climb any tree in the District. Though she was nowhere near as fast or strong as the other children her age, what she lacked in muscle she made up for in brain. Even at a young age, she showed great acedemic achievement, and that was when her Father's conditioning began.Codeword: oDair
Realizing that Arcadia, if ever chosen to compete in the Hunger Games, would never stand a chance physically against the other tributes, her Father began at once to start and condition her mind. Already conservative in his views on how his daughter should dress and act, he started telling Arcadia to dumb herself down in public, under the excuse that it wasn't lady-like. But his true intentions were much deeper; if Arcadia acted dumb in front of any future tributes she might have to fight against, they would never really know how smart she really was. And having the advantage of surprise was always favorable in the ring.
Arcadia hardly ever leaves the house, partly because her Father is very strict about her curfew, and partly because, frankly, why would she want to. Her family is and was very wealthy, and everything she could possibly need or want in right at her fingertips. She's lived her life in a shell, extrememly sheltered, and so far, has never had her name drawn in the Reaping. But she's still got two more years to go; who knows what will happen?
