Appearance:
Glitter is a beautiful young woman who stands at 5 feet 9 inches and weighs 131 pounds. She often wears hints of makeup, and fine clothing. She has long golden hair that reaches 6 inches past her shoulders, and glows like sunshine in any kind of light. Her skin is alabaster pale, and she has a small scar on the back of her neck. Bright pale blue eyes seem to pierce your skin when they glance your way, framed with thick, dark lashes and shadowed by highly arched eyebrows. Her face is oval-shaped, complimented by high cheekbones and a definitive jaw line. One of the only flaws to her seemingly perfect appearance is a bump on her nose.Personality:
Glitter stands with a straight back, shoulders high, and chin out. She has long legs and arms punctuated by delicate hands and feet. The other blemish to her appearance is a small bump on her right foot from an irregularly mended bone she fractured as a toddler. What might be considered the rarest part of her looks is the chance to see a smile on her full, rose-colored lips. For this angel of a girl always seems to be sad. Her eyes often hold a shimmer of defiance and those lips often pucker, holding back words she wishes to unleash.
Glitter is a truly unhappy girl. She is clever and independent, but those qualities are squashed by the shyness and obedience she is forced into by her father. Many others will look at her and see a pretty face, and nothing more. She wishes she could find someone who would consider that there is a girl with thoughts and dreams behind her angelic beauty. She hates the Capitol for it's scheming cruelty, and she despises her father for making her be someone she's not.History:
Glitter must pretend to be the docile young socialite. She must express grace in her every move. She often wishes she could run away, far, far away, but she knows that because of her upbringing in which she has never known hunger or discomfort she would have no chance in the wild by herself. Even leaving her parents would result in catastrophe because she doesn't have the ability to provide for herself. She is dependent on the father she wishes she didn't have. Glitter is not strong at all, it would be very difficult for her to lift anything over a quarter of her weight. She also has never had any interest in fighting barbarically to the death in the Hunger Games so she never attends training. As a result she has no skills with weapons of any sort.
Glitter does find one way to rebel. Every morning she rises long before anyone else in District 1 and she runs. She runs through the streets and alleyways, near homes, near shops, all over District 1. After doing this for years she has acquired both breath-taking speed and unusual endurance. Though she is usually forced into silks and jewels, during these runs she wears a dark pair of trousers and a gray shirt she stole from her father. Everyday she looks forward to the next morning's run, and she likes to think while running that she can flee from District 1, the Capitol, and Panem itself.
Glitter's father is a well off businessman with a sense of authority and respect for the Capitol. Her mother is the beautiful grand-daughter of a District 1 mayor from some time ago. Their betrothal was arranged by their parents and they have forged a relationship out of mutual respect rather than love. Glitter had an older brother, Spectacle, who was seven when she was born. Her father had a plan for them both. Her brother was to become a victor of the Hunger Games and she was to be his pretty little girl, married off to the son of someone in power such as the mayor. When Glitter was three she fell down the stairs resulting in the scar on her neck and the bump on her foot.Codeword: odair
Then, when Glitter was eleven and Spectacle was eighteen, her brother disappeared. The morning of the Reaping dawned and he simply wasn't there. The family frantically searched for him, but he was nowhere to be found. An hour before the Reaping two Peacekeepers brought the dead body of Spectacle to the Hath's door. They reported that he had been taken into custody in the middle of the night when caught trying to escape the District. He then attacked the Peacekeepers holding him by trying to take their weapons, so they shot him, and he died moments later. Glitter's father promptly announced that Spectacle was no longer his son. Glitter's mother was driven into a deep depression she has yet to emerge from.
Ever since that terrible day the name Spectacle was banned from the Hath house, and Glitter's father put even more pressure on his daughter to be perfect. She attended dance lessons, was tutored in etiquette, and became the true Hath child. Most others viewed her as conceited and spoiled, so she lost the few friends she had. As Glitter became a proper young lady, she also became lonelier than ever. Glitter lives in her huge home, and feels as though she is alone in the world.
