Jaykub Levite - District 1

Jaykub, being from District 1, has sandy blonde hair, that is probably his highlighted feature. Unlike most boys, he keeps it about shoulder length, so if he needed to, he could pass off as a girl from behind. However, from in front of him, you would never be able to see why you thought he was a girl. His face is made of strong, hard lines; it has a rather flat top, which then tapers outwards diagonally, giving the top half of his face a trapezoid like look; then, his face pulls in again, ending in a rather narrow chin.

Jaykub's eyes aren't as spectacular as his hair; they are green, like many of those in his district, but like his sister, has been wearing contacts almost every day of his life. The contacts take his not-so-bright green eyes and turn them into bright violet globes, but the original dullness sometimes still shines through.

Jaykub is a Career, so his long, lean body is tan from spending many days outside, practicing his sword fighting and archery. He has a thick padding of muscle all over his body, and is not afraid to throw his weight around.

Jaykub has a naturally protective personality, ever since Emenaria was born. He feels this urge to get in the way of her and harm. Eventually, though, that protective nature expanded to his other baby sister, and then to other people. It can be regarded as a weakness. Sometimes when he tries to protect someone, Jaykub's priorities get messed up and his own safety is no object.

The District 1 male is also very spoiled. If he weren't training as a Career, he would let himself slip into gluttony. Even as a career, he had a bit more fat on him than was probably preferable. Jaykub knows whatever he wants, he will get, which is also a bad thing, especially if he were to be able to get into the games. If he wanted something, in the games, he couldn't get it, which would be a big change.

Charisma is probably the best character trait Jaykub has. He could make you believe an apple was a pear - if, of course, you could afford both - simply by using his words. This has helped Jaykub get out of several sticky situations before, and he hopes it will get him out of many more.

Jaykub was the only child in his family for two years, before his little sister, Emenaria was born. And as soon as the little two year old set eyes on his sister, he adored her. Her thick chocolate ringlets, her beautiful blue-gray eyes, her chubby face. As soon as he was old enough to stand the concept of protecting someone, he knew he wanted to protect his baby sister. And if going to the Hunger Games would keep her living large with gifts and money, that was what he was going to do.

Knowing he would stand no chance unless he actually trained for them, Jaykub did just that. When he was six, he started learning a skill most careers ignored; finding edible plants. However, after nearly killing himself by eating a small portion of some poisonous plant or another, and exercised more caution, never really expanding upon his knowledge.

When his other baby sister was born, the same joy that overtook Jaykub when Emenaria was born was present again. He threw himself back into trying to find edible plants, this time being more careful. When he had a higher than average knowledge of the plants in his area, Jaykub moved on to other skills - defense (where he got a nasty scar across his stomach) and using a sword, as well as a bow and arrow, where he, again, hurt himself, this time by shooting himself in the hand with a bow, leaving a quarter sized mark in his palm.
