Appearance:
Beatrice is definitely on the taller side with an average build- (if anything, she's slightly big-boned). She's stronger than she looks, and has smooth light tan skin. Her loose dirty blonde ringlets reach her mid-back, and are usually pulled back into a ponytail. Her hair isn't as smooth as her skin, and is often riddled with tanglesPersonality:
Her face is round and lightly freckled. Her coffee brown eyes are usually the first thing you might notice about her. They look strong and striking with no color variation in them. Her sight isn't great, so she wears square glasses when shes reading or tinkering with electronics. Her lips are full and rarely stop smiling. She doesn't wear make-up, but if you saw her, you'd know she doesn't need to. She's beautiful in a cheerful-yet-tough sort of way.
In town, she wears a simple brown blouse with a plain blue skirt down to her ankles. She wears no jewelry save for simple gold earrings for special occasions. Her 'signature' article of clothing is the light blue ribbon that she uses to tie back her hair. It's embroidered with her name, and a picture of her dog. When she goes out hiking, she wears boots, rugged brown pants, and a weather-resistant blue sweater.
Beatrice is very cheerful and loud. She can talk your ear off, but if she is, just tell her, because she's also polite enough to stop if you ask. She also loves to sing, but she knows she's not very good at it, and saves it for when she's alone. Despite being quite gregarious, she doesn't have very many friend, probably due to her over-talkativeness.History:
She loves electronics and has tinkered with them from a young age. She specializes in lighting and LED's, always loving to make pretty flashing art. She also loves hiking in the hills- mainly to get away from all the factory smog in District Three. She doesn't hunt, and doesn't want to hunt. But if she had to, she thinks she would be able to.
Like mentioned before, she is very cheerful and optimistic, her face constantly radiating with a bright grin. She'll always have something encouraging to say. She never gets angry, and hates to be sad. She can't stand conflict, and if confronted with an argument or fight, will almost always find the quickest escape route. This is probably her greatest weakness.
She's clumsy with her words, but physically more agile than she looks. She's tough and capable, especially with pain, but she probably doesn't have the guts to kill somebody- even out of hatred or anger. Killing would at least throw her into some sort of emotional meltdown. When she's sad, she doesn't cry, but instead takes on a distant vacant look, and goes and sits somewhere quiet for a while.
Beatrice's mother died while giving birth, and her father ran away shortly after, presumed to have died in the wilderness. She doesn't remember this, so it doesn't affect her much. She was adopted by her grandparents and has lived with them ever since. She has no siblings.Codeword: oDair
Her grandfather, Samuel, is very strong and healthy for his age. At seventy-four, he still works in a light bulb factory, and brings home spare LED's for Beatrice. He used to have to work in the television factory as well, but they have enough money now. Samuel enjoys taking hikes with his granddaughter when he has the time.
Beatrice's grandmother, Helena, is a very kind, yet confused old woman. The main reason for her confusion is that she's deaf, and doesn't know what's going on most of the time. But being, a woman in her seventy's, her mind isn't completely 'there'. You can usually find her sitting on her porch caring for the potted violets and daffodils she's planted. Because of all the pollution in District 3, the flowers usually don't look too perky, but it's still one of the few joys in her life.
The Woodward family has always been one of the wealthier families in the district. Beatrice doesn't even need a job yet, but she's looking into it because she know her grandparents aren't going to live forever. They have a beautiful home with a large covered porch, and spacious rooms. Beatrice has a dog named Benedict who loves going on hikes with Beatrice. Benedict is a mutt, but with some definite resemblance toward a Border Collie, and his presence on hikes usually keeps any wild animals away.
Comments/Other:
The Woodwards don't enjoy watching the Hunger Games, but they don't despise the Capitol either. If Beatrice was sent to the Hunger Games, it would be a great loss for her grandparents, but they would try to maintain their pride.
