Cassa is 5'4, barely missing 5'5. Her hair that frames her heart-shaped face, just passes her shoulders and appears to change depending on the light: in the sun, her hair is as golden as the rays of light; in the moonlight, the golden color looks almost brown. Cassa has wanted to chop all her hair off most of her life, but her mother has never allowed her to, so she usually twists it into a clip her mother bought for her 12th birthday.
Her eyes are the standard ocean green that is synonymous with District 4, but she has flecks of gold that most don't notice until you look closely.
Case spends most of her time ocean side, so her skin is always tanned and over the years, built up a near immunity to being burned. Her diet and activeness has led to staying slim. She collects various things along the beach and has turned some into a necklace adorned with pearls and shells that she never takes off.
Like most of District 4 that spend their time at the water, Cassa has a consistent aroma of the salt water and tends to smell of fish, though the District is used to it. Overall, Cassa is pretty normal on the outside, but it's her personality that shines through.

Personality:

Cassa is bubbly and bright, but extremely tough underneath. She's positive, but is not naive as most think. Her heart tries to be in the right place, but is sometimes on the losing side. She is headstrong and won't take crap from people, but would never be able to survive in isolation.
Cassa is by no means dumb, though she isn't smarter than average. She spends class time trying to pay attention, but normally talking to those around her. Her lunch table is one that is never quite full, but not just her. Cassa likes being around people, though she lacks real, true friends. Her dislike of being alone causes her to always be around people, but she doesn't really "know" them. Her closest ally in life is her mother, who is rarely around due to her job.
Cassa's life isn't hard, but it's not easy, which has lead to a lot of the way her personality is shaped. She's never quite "something": not smart, but not dumb; positive and bubbly, but not naive; friendly, but without friends.

History:

Cassa Marie Holden (pronounced "CASE-AH"/goes by "Case") is the daughter of a fisherman and the Mayor's personal chef. At the age of 4, her father disappeared while fishing and hasn't been seen or heard from since. She is an only child and tries to help her mother while she is at work, but usually gets in the way.
When most people hear that Cassa knows the Mayor and spends time around his house they expect to see factory made everything, but Cassa's mother works for just enough to get the 2 of them by. Once a year, after the Reaping, Cassa is invited to dinner at the Mayor's house to celebrate not being chosen for the Reaping along with Lane, the Mayor's son. Most of the time though, Case keeps her distance from the Mayor.
Never a loner, Cassa is good friends with most of her classmates in school and popular with a lot of boys because of her simple and charming looks, though beauty means nothing to her.
She has become a good fisherwoman over the years, though usually staying close to shore after her father's disappearance and presumed death.
