Damien S. Kallows {District 4}

The beautiful blonde one. Beauty isn't very short in district 4: all of the surfers, the swimmers, the hard work in the ocean, etc. And, no worries, Damien is the perfect example. Beautifully blonde, deep brown eyes, a seductive look to die for, attractive abdominal muscles, huge chest muscles, destructive biceps, everything you could dream of in a teenager. He is also 5' 11", which seems to be tall for his age. His muscle weighs him in at 145 pounds, which is VERY healthy for being in a district instead of The Capitol.

Being good looking definately does help. He's very blessed with being extrememly persuasive. He always gets the cream of the crop when it comes to clothing. His family is already well off with money, but being beautiful, he sometimes gets stuff for free just so people can see him walking around in it. He loves thin jackets, skin-tight shirts, slim pants or baggy shorts, but he will never accept shoes. He loves being barefoot: feeling the dirt, rocks, or sand under his toes make him feel at ease. Damien is also treated amazingly at school because of his distracting beauty. Even the teachers seem to love him.

Being beautiful may give him the disadvantage of being remembered in the arena, but his strength will come in handy. His ability to swim very well will always be good in arenas based off of the ocean or water. His amazing skill with nets for catching fish would always help him trap animals or catch fish in the arena. His nimble hands will give him another huge advantage. Also, he's trained secretly with a fishing pole to be used as both a useful item and a deadly weapon. He figures the fishing pole is just a lighter version of the sword and that the all deadly trident might as well be a fishing pole with three short ends. Spears and javelins might actually be of use as well.

Damien is your average beauty-boy. Completely beautiful on the outside, but the inside might not be so beautfiul. He's completely angry and cocky. Those two emotions can almost describe him in any positions and during any day. If he's ever in a fight, he's angry. If it's a save you or save himself situation, he'll save himself. Basically, he's your typical prettyboy.

Some may say this whole angry, cocky teenager thing is a total cliche facade. Well, maybe it is, but to him, it's all he knows. He doesn't know how to love; Damiens mother and father fight constantly, so the only love he may know is how to love himself. He doesn't understand happiness; Damien finds that happiness isn't deserved in his world. Family feuds in his house destory his hope for a smile, abuse and all, and The Hunger Games sucks away any remains of joy left in his life.

Those few friends that decide to try to hang out with Damien for more than his beauty know him. They are annoyed by his cockyness and his anger. But they've seen moments and glimmers of something. No matter what it was - hope, joy, lust, love, - it was something more humane than the other emotions he had. This sparkle of humanity keeps those few true friends around to be there for him.

Damiens childhood started early in the marriage of his mother and father. His mother had him at 16, his father at 19. Because of this young love couple, Damien's parents began fighting at a young age. This had cause his childhood to be a total wreck. Dinner soon turned out to be his mother on the couch, his father in the bedroom, and him on the stairway because the table was broken from all the fighting. His father soon became abusive. His mother would have bruises on a regular basis. As being only a child, he got used to it, so used to it that Damien was brainwashed into thinking that was regular for all families.

It wasn't until a few years ago that Damien had stood up to his father bravely and courageously. His father realized his wrong and stopped the hitting and throwing of Damien's mother. But the verbal abuse continued, coming out of both of their mouths. Damien learned to ignore it and do whatever he was told. He bore many things and still does, but maybe that's why he's so screwed up like he is.

Damien loves the ocean, as many do in his district. Damien uses it as a getaway from his parents. He always looks at the ocean as a new realm, a new world. He deeply wishes for a chance to grow gills and swim away from everything, but that never happens. Damien likes to work for a fishing company, keeping ten percent of the fish he catches for himself, which is a good way of feeding his family and himself. His father works for a seafood restaurant, though it happens to very low-class and cheap. His mother on the other hand happens to own a boat that the fishing companys rent to use to ride out in the ocean and catch fish, which is where his family gets most of their money from.
