Mabel C. Saylor ~ Disctrict 4

Mabel is a typical ocean dweller with her red hair and blue eyes. Her skin is a fine tan because she likes to spend her hours out in the water with her father fishing. Because she is a redhead and her love for the water and by result the sun is so great she is spotted with hundreds of little freckles across her face and body. It is her fine long red hair though that is her most prominent feature. When it is not let lose in her usual down do she typically has her hair in a ribboned braid.

She is an average height at five foot and four inches. But the most striking thing about her is her stature. She holds herself like she is an amazon maiden at six feet tall. Maybe this is because Mabel knows that she is a strong and beautiful individual... not her most appealing characteristic. But of all of the physical attributes to Mabel her long fingers are her oddest commodity. They have something about them that is reminiscent of having a long and hard history to them... but secrets are secrets for a reason.

Mabel is a strong individual because of her long hours on the boat with her father going fishing. However her strength is hidden behind her winning and mysterious smile. She knows that she is beautiful and perhaps that is why Mabel has a slight mean streak in her. But at the same time her mean streak is evened out with her softness in situations involving people she cares about.

The most amazing part of Mabel's personality is her compassion for the small group of people she calls her family and friends. But outside that small group of people she is not nearly as cheerful. The major consensus as to why she acts like this is because Mabel is afraid to get hurt. Her mother passed away when she was seven years old, so Mabel is very close to her father. The two are virtually joined at the hip and because he is a fisherman she aspires to be one as well.

She is well equipped with a trident and a net because of her experience with the fishing industry. In fact one can even say she is fierce and terrifying in her element. Something that she also knows and flaunts. Mabel's greatest strength by far is her confidence... which she lacks very little of and when it comes to competition Mabel is all in. Time to nut up or shut up.

Mabel grew up in the wealthier part of District Four. Her father is a very successful fisherman and even has the rare privilege of owning his own boat. This feat is not something that does not pass with jealously by the rest of the District.

Mabel's mother was one of the best healers in their District. She was a beautiful redheaded woman with a voice that melted through people's skin like butter. However, when she was working on a particular outbreak of the flu she contracted a deadly strain. Her death, unlike most of her patients, was long and drawn out. Everyone in their family used all of the resources they had, which even for a wealthy family is not much, to save her. In the end it only prolonged her suffering and left the entire family scarred.

After the passing of her mother Mabel's older sister was forced into the motherly position of the family. Rhynne, Mabel's older sister, at the age of thirteen at the time became the caretaker of Mabel and her younger sister Rosaline. The strawberry blonde older sister lost all of her dreams that day becoming a chameleon for the primary caretaker. However, Rosaline at the age of four lost the ability to speak the day her mother died. The shock was too much for her and now Mabel had to become the strongest in her family. Which is a role she adapted too quickly and is even brilliant at.

Now at the age of fourteen Mabel is a confident and beautiful girl who hates compassion with strangers. New relationships are not something that Mabel likes and looks forward to making. She is no ally, she is in it to win for herself.
