Pagey is currently going through that awkward stage in life where girls are taller than boys. This makes him stand a lot straighter than he usually would, he’d occasionally even recur to standing on his tip toes, because boys are taller than girls. And he’s a boy, thank you very much. He’s actually not that short, standing at 5 feet, but he looks much smaller than he actually is, because he’s so thin. Weighing 95 pounds, he’s a bit under his ideal weight, but he likes to think he’ll be very strong and big when he gets older.Personality:
Page has light brown hair, which he honestly just wears --as he likes to call it-- ‘freestyle’. Meaning, he wakes up in the morning, and he barely even touches it. It’s fairly short, but long enough for it to be well into his forehead. His eyes are blue, but actually rather plain, with nothing much more to them but the pale color. His eyelashes are short and scarce, contributing to make them look plain. Both his nose and his ears are too big for his face, the former being crooked from the time he broke it.
Pagey is, first and foremost, compassionate. People are very important to him, and he can’t stand watching anyone being hurt. He’s probably the first to rush by if anyone as much as trips and he’ll be worried beyond belief because of that. He’s pretty likely to be thinking they fainted or had a heart attack rather than ‘Hey, look, their shoe’s undone, they could’ve tripped!’ He worries too much about everyone, despite his usual feelings about them, even if they might hurt him if he gets too near. (Which he does.)History:
He’s also very naïve. Not exactly in the sense that he’ll believe someone if they tell him the sky’s green. (Because he’s at the age of suspecting and realizing simple things, although he might believe you if you say something of that sort if he trusts you) It’s more in the sense that Page thinks everyone has honorable intentions. He puts his faith that his government is only killing people because of the honor the Victors bring back to their Districts, instead of scaring people. No one could be that cold-hearted, could they?
Pagey’s very jumpy and he’s scared of many things, ranging from sharks to being alone in the dark. Most of the time, though, he’s taken by surprise by the circumstances. For one, he’s sort of quiet and he daydreams a lot, so, if you walk by when he’s in this state, you’re very likely to scare him. However, the boy’s actually very dramatic too, so he’s very prone to misinterpret the situation and take it as horrible and traumatizing, when you were honestly just trying to have some fun.
He’s not too social, but not afraid of saying ‘hi’ to a stranger. Being a bit of a people pleaser, he’ll probably open up the conversation with a compliment of some sort, and once he feels more comfortable, he’ll probably just jump up and down about how his mom called him smart, about how he just loves the sea, and babble about his life to this stranger, his voice taking the appropriate (and exaggerated) tones during the conversation.
Being a child who never really needed much of anything, he doesn’t quite have an eventful past. His parents own a fishing shop, selling everything from bait to very expensive fishing gear.Codeword: odair
One of the most important events in his life happened when he was about three or four years old, the first time his parents ever gave him seafood. Soon enough, the boy was throwing up and complaining of stomach pain, growing red in the face. His father, who had a doctor father himself, diagnosed seafood allergy, claiming to have seen it enough during his years at home. This is one of the reasons Page is so thin. Most of what is eaten in his house is seafood, and were it up to him; he would devour it, mainly because everyone eats it. It’s District 4, after all.
When he was 8, he and his family were playing an exciting game of blind tag, when Page ran straight into a wall, breaking his nose. This was probably the birth of his fear of blood, since he saw so many of his own.
Since he’s so afraid of blood, and hates people getting hurt, he’s absolutely terrified of the Games, dreading the day when it’ll be his turn to go to the Reaping. Unfortunately for him, though, he hasn’t even shown to his parents that he doesn’t like them, again, because everyone seems to think it only brings honor. He knows he’ll have to train soon, and he plans to hide when he’s supposed to be doing so.
Something that marked him was the death of his grandfather, the doctor, from an odd lung disease (which was very recent). To Page, he was the best man, helping people for a living, and being so understanding and funny. He’d seen death many times on TV, but he’d never known how horrible it would feel. Ever since then, every decease he sees on the Games is actually acknowledged with tears, regardless of the murderous natures of some of the tributes.
