Nilly Harrison - District 5

Nilly is taller than the average person, and sometimes gets made fun of for it. She stands at 5'8" and is taller than most of her friends her age. To add to her height, she is also not muscular, and skinny. One could describe her as lanky too, but she has a graceful nature to her. No matter how awkward she may look, what with her tallness and skinniness, she is still graceful and poised.

She has both her father's and her mother's hair. She has her mother's hair texture, extremely wavy and even curly sometimes. But she has her father's bright red hair colour. Some may wonder how she gets a brush through her hair, and sometimes she does too. Though most of the time she doesn't really care how her hair looks. She often leaves it just hanging around her face. On occasion, she ties the front pieces back to keep them out of her face, but leaves the rest of it down.

She has her father's eyes and freckles as well. Her eyes stand out quite a bit next to her bright hair and pale complexion. They are a dark blue-gray and the main focus point of her face. Any makeup she chooses to wear accents it. Though most of the time she doesn't like to wear it. Nilly is a natural beauty. Her face (oddly enough) is one of the few places on her body with freckles. And lots of them. There are sprinkles all over her face, and not just in a few places like her nose.

Her eyebrows are the colours of her hair. They only other feature of Nilly that is striking, is her lips. They are a light pink but are somehow quite noticeable. Maybe they just stand out so much because her skin is a porcelain white. Nilly isn't picky about what she wears. She has more important things to worry about. Lucky for her she fits the same clothes as her sister, so they share a lot. You will often see them both in the same outfits.

Nilly is smart. Both common sense smart and book smart. She knows a lot about a lot, but she doesn't flaunt her knowledge. She does good in school and is good with people. She is very observant and picks up on things most people wouldn't notice. Be it something in nature, or people's emotions. People have a way of revealing themselves to her without their knowledge. With their body movements and the aura they give off. She notices when things are different or something and often knows when something is wrong.

She is honest with mostly everyone. If she is lying, she has a good reason for it. Nilly doesn't like the idea of twisted truth or being lied to. If she asks something, she wants to know. So she treats people the same way. Even if it's hard for her, she answers honestly when someone asks a question. The only times Nilly lies are if she knows the truth will hurt that person, or she has a really good reason.

Nilly isn't shy, she just doesn't like taking the chance to get close to people, so she doesn't go out of her way to make friends. If she becomes close with someone, it's just something that happens. She is very trustworthy, loyal, and good with secrets. All in all she makes a good friend, she just doesn't have many.

She doesn't make jokes often because she doesn't find humour in much of life. So it's a challenge to make her laugh, but it's worth it to see her smile. She has a dazzling smile, but she doesn't use it very often because she has no reason to. She isn't pessimistic and doesn't have a bad sense of humour, she just never has a reason to laugh anymore.

Nilly had a father at one time. She was his pride and joy. But he disappeared one night. She had been seven and people in white uniforms had taken him away. Maybe they were from the capitol, maybe they weren't. She didn't know and she didn't care. All she knew was they took her father and never brought him back. He may very well be dead by now, but she has her heart set on finding him.

Her mother died when she was two from cancer. A cureable kind, but they didn't have the money to buy the cure. Her father had always felt like it was his fault because he was supposed to be able to keep their family together. He had always had a hard time looking at her sister because she resembled their mother so much. Nilly on the other hand looked like her father more than her mother.

Nilly's sister is the only one she can depend on now. At the age of eighteen, she is a rolemodel and best friend to Nilly. Sabrina had always been there and unlike most sisters, they never really fought. Perhaps it was because they were so close in age. Of course they had their disputes, but never anything big. Nilly has no idea what she would do if she were to lose Sabrina. She is all that's left of her support system, her family.

She isn't quite sure how the name Nilly came to be. She's had the name since before she can remember. Her father had been calling her that since she was very young. He had always said her mother came up with it, but he had never mentioned how or what made her think of it. Since then however, her sister has always called her that.
