District/Area: District 6
Appearance:
Zafirah is an intriguing, mysterious looking scientist with striking yet awkward features. Her skin is a pale shade of porcelain white, yet her hair is dark chocolate brown making a contrasting formation of opposite features. Her chocolate brown glossy hair falls down to her mid back in ruffles and curves, yet maintaining a shapely straight texture. Her face is a pale white canvas with strikingly beautiful strokes of nature. Her eyes are a clear blue/grey color and are thin and proportional with charcoal colored eyelashes. She is called “wolf girl” and other variations to mock her beast like eyes because of the piercing color and the dark, thick eyebrows that accompany them. Her eyebrows are even, symmetrical and spaced apart, but they are very thick, wide and dark, adding a great animalistic quality. Her nose is normal sized and thin with a hint of a curve at the end. Her lips are like her eyebrows- full and thick. They are very voluptuous and big, but still do not overpower her face. Her jaw line is thin and angular, forming a sharp point at her chin. Her ears are very small and oval shaped and usually hide behind her long dark hair, unless she wears it up in a ponytail.Personality:
Despite her stunning and beautiful facial features, Zafirah is also very different looking. Her skin is an even silky white that stands out like a ghost. She is very tall and woman-like, but somewhat disproportional. Her arms are stocky and long and her shoulders are broad and muscular, giving her the posture of a man. Her chest is very undeveloped, and takes away from her womanly essence. Her arms are petite and long but have a slight trace of muscle tissue that pops through her skin and gives her the appearance of an athlete. Her neck is strangely long and gives both an elegant extension to her face and a giraffe like awkwardness. Her hands are big and manly, although her arms are so long and thing. Her nails are polished, manicured and painted an electric blue color that stands out against her pale skin. Her upper ribs partly show through her neck and upper chest from being thin but do not make her look emaciated. Her stomach is thin and tight with hipbones that poke out on her sides. Her hips are curvy and womanly despite her angular and manly upper body. Her legs are extremely long and look like stilts that sit on the line between gorgeous and unattractive. Her thighs are very developed and muscular and her shins are un-bruised and well groomed. Her toenails are painted the same color as her fingernails, electric blue, and her feet are high arched and long. Her entire body is hairless from being wealthy and well groomed her whole life.
Zafirah is tuned out to the outside world, being focused, driven, and determined. Her mind is well developed beyond her years, being a professional neural engineer and biochemist at age 17. In a sense, she is a genius. Her maturity and composure verges on offensive when she refuses to even laugh when she is working. On the outside she is a tough wall of powerful solitude and on the inside she a pool of sensitivity and sorrow (see history). She is often anti-social, indifferent, and sarcastic to the politics of modern life. The events of the capitol and Panem do not concern her, unless they are science related. She is purely knowledge and facts driven, not opinionated.History:
Despite her wealthy career and family background, Zafirah stays levelheaded. She is not greedy or stuck up like most rich people. Instead, she sees money as a blessing that she was fortunate enough to encounter in her life on the way to success. Her main goal is success in the science world, and money is a side effect to her. She wears beautiful, expensive, and top of the line outfits with accessories, jewelry, ties her hair in strange ways and owns too many shoes, but she actually appreciates it all. She knows exactly how hard she has worked in her life and money is a reward that she feels she deserves, which some people confuse with being stuck-up. Her sense of humor is dead, having no inside jokes with her friends or dinner table jokes with her family, giving a broken link between her and the rest of the world.
The family and friends that she does have are very aware of her true intensions. Sometimes she can come off as offensive and unappreciative but that is just because she has a hard time conveying her feelings. She is a very tough girl, having few comments that are all powerful and meaningful. She knows so much information and factual knowledge that she snickers and sighs when people are naïve and dumb, her biggest pet peeve. She tends to not respect athletes and unsuccessful people who have the potential to do more in their lives. She is a loner, and shies away from making new friendships out of fear of losing them. The friends she does have are her fellow scientists and family who she respects for their successful careers.
Although her exterior is so harsh and blockaded, she is a sweetheart on the inside. She is a beautiful soul that is struggling to emerge from her shell. She has had tragic experiences in her life (see history) that have contributed to her social wall, but remains the sweet little girl she used to be on the inside. When she is relaxed and free of work and responsibility she tends to release a little of her true self, and completely emerges with love. Her love life is a very short timeline, having had one boyfriend in her past who she only dated to gain progress in college. He was a very young professor and was a closeted sex offender. She sold herself in exchange for her career, an example of how her dreams control her life.
Zafirah’s life is devoted to her dream of curing cancer. When she was 7 years old, she was just a normal girl in elementary school who aced all of her classes and had many friends. When she was eight, she was the same normal girl but in high school who aced all of her classes, who had no friends, and who had no mother. Her mother, named Sonya, was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor when Zafirah was seven and died from the cancer two short months later. Zafirah quickly decreased her elegant posture, dropped her social habits, and blocked all of her friends from her life. She was sad, afraid, and regretful, like any grieving family member, but the emotion she was overcome with was rage.Codeword: Odair
Her rage consumed her life, causing an anger problem that settled for 2 years then disappeared, depression that almost took her out of school, and lack of determination to make her family proud. One day, when she found her mother’s diamond locket in her drawer, she opened it and found a note. ‘My beautiful daughter Zafirah, what a fitting name for a fiery, passionate, beautiful girl. I love you with all my heart. You make me more proud than I’ve ever been. Never trim those beautiful eyebrows, and never try to tan, your skin can’t take it. Love- mom. ‘ it said. This sparked something in Zafirah, a passion and a determination that consumed her. She was enlightened with a solution to her sorrow.
Growing up in a rich and successful family of doctors as an only child, Zafirah had the privilege of plentiful opportunities and chances up for grabs in her life. She was always fed, always entertained, and always loved, so the only thing she could fight for was revenge. Revenge for her mother turned into a thirst for knowledge, the idea that she could cure the cancer that took her mother. With such dedication and determination, she graduated elementary school at age 7. She graduated high school with the required credits at age 10 and immediately immersed herself in medical school. This tore her away from her family who both supported her success and denied her maturity. She wanted to grow up as fast as possible and achieve her dream as soon as possible.
When she was 15, her 19-year-old college professor who also was a child prodigy in medicine approached her with a chance to work in the most prominent sector of district 6’s medical industry. Overwhelmed with the possibility of her dream coming true, she agreed to the proposition, but there was a consequence. Her professor blackmailed her into sex, and was arrested after she graduated for abusing a different girl. This is, along with her mother’s death, the driving force in her past to seek revenge. She took all of her professor’s work, discoveries, and theories and proved them wrong. Now she is working in the medicinal HQ of district 6 and living with her family under regulations from the capitol. She is neutral when it comes to the politics of the Hunger Games, and has never paid one ounce of attention to them. She has never picked up a weapon, besides chemicals and science tools, and does not’ even know the concept. She attends the reaping each year, only because she is required to as a 17-year-old, but completely tunes the whole thing out and focuses on her studies.

If I messed up with any of the timeline/age approximations, let me know, I'm not sure if the different ages made sense. Thanks
