Age: 17

District/Area: District 1
Appearance:
[/blockquote]Personality:
Charm stands at about 5’7, and only weighing in at about 130 pounds, making him pretty small for a boy his age, especially from District 1. His body is very muscular however from a lifetime of gymnastics training; this gives him strong, toned arms and a tiny, limber figure. He has wavy hair the shade of gold that he keeps at a medium length so that the waves give him a windswept look, and he has large deep blue eyes. His eyes are almost the exact color of Lapuz Lazuli for which his family’s surname comes from.
Charm has a very young face for a 17 year old boy, and his skin is extremely smooth with no sign of facial hair. This, coupled with his large doe eyes, gives him a very innocent, yet appealing look. Though he would likely be very attractive merely on his own accord, his parents, high-end jewelers who cater directly to the president’s inner circle, treat him like a show dog and are constantly preening and adjusting their sons appearance. Charm is always under scrutiny by his mother’s keen eye. She has his hair high lighted, eye brows plucked and has her son tanned on a regular basis.
Though many boys would get annoyed with this type of focus on appearance, in District One it is almost a natural thing. Altering his appearance to please others, particularly his parents, is a rather large part of the only life he has ever known.
[/blockquote]History:Charm definitely lives up to his name, because one of the key aspects of his being is his ability to charm others. He has a way with words, which, coupled with his innocent and kind face, give him the ability to manipulate almost anyone to his will. He discovered this ‘power’ at a very young age, and it has led him to be spoiled and selfish as he grew up. Coming from a wealthy family and his ability to charm other’s to his will, Charm has never learned the meaning of the word “no”. Sometimes Charm likes to just play mind games with those around them to see just how much he can persuade them into doing.
Though others perceive Charm to be confident and charismatic, and he is very good at playing this up, on the inside his esteem is in constant turmoil. For a boy who is so confident and can be so demeaning to those around him, the person he puts down the most is himself. A lifetime of having your appearance adjusted by the two people he wants to please the most, his parents, it’s hard not to constantly question your worth. Charm has horrible self-esteem and is horrible at accepting any form of criticism because he takes it straight to heart.
In constant fear of not being good enough, Charm pushes himself to be the best at everything he does. He strives for that ever-unattainable goal of “perfection, constantly beating himself up internally for his flaws. It certainly doesn’t help that the person Charm finds himself so attracted to loves nothing more than to point each one of these out to him on a regular basis.

The Lazulis had great plans for their son long before his was born. They put him into gymnastics training to mold him into a performer, in hopes that some day he might be able to move to the Capitol and work as an entertainer. In their eyes, this was giving him a better life, but Charm had no plans of ever leaving District One; it was his home.
At the age of ten Charm was scouted at his gymnastics studio by a couple of victors who ran an underground training center for the Games. This took all assemblage of free time from his life. When he was not at school he was either at the studio to further his acrobatic skills or at the training center to be molded into a killing machine. In any moments he could spare however, his mother and father dictated all of those to be spent on his perfecting appearance.
In training for the Games, Charm quickly became quite notable among the fellow careers he trained with. His gymnastics background had made him extremely aware and in control of his body movements which made him extremely quick, nimble and instinctively graceful with handling weaponry. This just gave Charm one more thing to be fawned over, not helping his already self-absorbed nature.
Even though he was quite ego centric, his charming personality and ability to control others left many in awe of him and thinking he could do no wrong. This didn’t fool everyone however. There was one boy in particular who saw through Charm’s façade and used it against him every chance he had: Saber Malachite, Charm’s rival from the day he set foot in the training group. Charm was never good at hiding when he got upset, and certainly the looks on his face whenever Saber hurt him only egged him on further. Charm already hated himself on the inside, so it wasn’t too hard to wound him deeply if you knew what to target, and Saber seemed to always know exactly what to say or do.
Once in fact, Saber purposefully landed a deep, nasty cut across Charm’s pristine face during training, and his parents had threatened to pull him out of the group. After a lot of convincing on both Charm’s and the trainers’ behalf, the Lazulis agreed to let Charm continue. The Lazulis did however pay a fortune to have a Capitol specialist come in to remove any signs of a scar from Charm’s face and actually have a year or two taken off from his face, giving him very young features for his age now. They would not have their beautiful child marred; they were complete ‘stage parents’. In fact, they were now quite dead set on having Charm in the Games. In the Lazuli’s eyes, this could be the jumpstart to his career as a famous performer in the Capitol and made him sign up for the unnecessary tesserae as much as possible every year.
So Charm continued to train, day in and day out, and endured Saber’s constant taunts. The worst of it, despite all he was put through, Charm couldn’t help but be attracted to his rival. Maybe it was because he was the only one who could actually put Charm in his place, but whatever the reason was didn’t matter; Charm hated himself even more for it.
